New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Part 1 thread New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand - Nursing for Nurses

Hi everyone. I have another concern (again).

One application form states that I need to submit an original copy of the letter from AHPRA. How can I do that if I only have the pdf form of that letter? What "original copy" are they referring to?

Thanks in advance :)

Send the pdf file u have through the bp provider´s email address! That will do!

Hi there tumblewedz! It would be better if you already have a BP School in mind because different Schools/Institutions as well as AUS Territory have their own standard Protocols as regards to Immunzation Requirements. If you can possibly read the previous discussions you'll definitely have an idea what to do and where to start :-) Good Luck!

congratulations makikay!!!:) really happy for you!!!

god bless in your whole new adventure in oz!:)

guys, if your a Filipino nurse, i think you could help me... i have some query regarding the certificate of good standing... does PRC send that directly to AHPRA via mail, my sister back at the Philippines went to the PRC and they've told her that they don't mail that particular document... now how true is that? cause AHPRA needs it directly from the PRC...

What your sister needs to do is to first request the said document. Once she already have it she can now go to the courier located within the PRC Compound. She only need to inform the courier agent that the SENDER is PRC and they will give her a pre-filled out plastic envelope with all the PRC information needed all she needed to do is to fill-out the information of the receipient which in this case is APHRA.

Hi fellow nurses!

Happy new year!

I'm new here in this forum, hopefully you can help me. I'll just want to ask some things about Australian Bridging Program. I'm from the Philippines and I got only 1 year experience in a primary hospital. Does bed capacity matters for AHPRA application?

Since my budget is limited, my friend told me about Phil. Management Inc., a consultancy agency based in Manila. I don't know if this Agency is reliable since I was not able to attend their orientation. Could anybody give me any information about PhilMan?

Thank you very much!

Hi GoOZRN,

It doesn't matter whether you have worked in a primary or tertiary hospital, as long as you have hospital work experience, that will do. Regarding PhilMan, I'll send you a pm about the agency. :)

Hello guys!

Just want to share that I recently passed IHNA's interview and since no other schools have responded positively like they do, I will grab this opportunity. I immediately enrolled for their e-learning course the other day. While waiting for their reply, I would like to ask if anybody here knows the required immunizations in IHNA? I want to be in for their earliest intake thus I want to complete all the documents beforehand. Thank you guys!:)

Wow!! Congratulations!:) All the best for you on your upcoming BP:)

To isingrin, hotrod and areyn: can you recommend a house/flat/room near AAON? Thank you. :D

BTW, I got my student visa yesterday. God is good :yelclap:. Anybody here who is for AAON's February intake?

I had Hepa B three doses and booster dose before but opted to also have the serology test for further documentation. As for Varicella, I had chickenpox but wasn't really diagnosed by my pediatrician. I chose to have the serology test then since I also didn't have any vaccination for that. As for MMR, you need two doses at least a month apart. I did inquire for its serology test but found it too costly. MMR vaccine cost about 1000php per shot. DTap, however, is around 1500php and that's just only one shot.

Thanks for this info =) I had serology tests for Measles and Rubella but none for Mumps. Does the vaccine for MMR come in one shot (like all Mumps, Measles and Rubella are in one shot)? For the Tetorifice shots, do we really need these as well? If yes, how many months apart is each shot from the next? i suddenly became stupid and forgot about my community days hehehehe

My IELTS will expire this May. LTU told me that I should retake my IELTS first before they can process my application. How sad.The next sched for IELTS here in Zamboanga is on March. :( This is just sad.

@nursenathalie: Thanks for the reply.
