Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.
Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

It doesn't matter whether you have worked in a primary or tertiary hospital, as long as you have hospital work experience,that will do. Regarding PhilMan, I'll send you a pm about the agency. :)

hi GoOZRN. . i have a friend who successfully went to Australia through that agency. . In the past, it only took them 1 month and a half for the AHPRA processing time, but now the waiting time for AHPRA eligibility letter would take 3-4 months and for some even longer
than that. . . I am still waiting for my AHPRA letter. .

Thanks for this info =) I had serology tests for Measles and Rubella but none for Mumps. Does the vaccine for MMR come in one shot (like all Mumps, Measles and Rubella are in one shot)? For the Tetorifice shots, do we really need these as well? If yes, how many months apart is each shot from the next? i suddenly became stupid and forgot about my community days hehehehe
Yup, MMR comes in one shot. As for Tetorifice, it is included in the Dtap as it pertains to Diphtheria tetorifice and acellular pertussis. But technically, it really depends on the what the school requires. However, the most common required vaccines as what I know includes MMR, Dtap and Hep B.
My IELTS will expire this May. LTU told me that I should retake my IELTS first before they can process my application. How sad.The next sched for IELTS here in Zamboanga is on March. This is just sad.

I've read the first 15 pages of this thread but it was too late when I realize that it was way back 2010. So I just jump right to the end. Anyhoo, I just started my plans with the student visa thing. I'm still in the process of completing the AHPRA requirements to be deemed eligible. Here are a few enquiries I have. Hope you can help me.1. Documents I need from PRC are as follows: Cert of Good Standing, Cert of Reg Status, Board Rating and Cert of Passing. Did I miss anything? Wheredid you authenticate your docs? with PRC? Or Notary Public? Or is that the same?2. How long does AHPRA usually process this kind of application?3. I graduated last 2007. I have no trainings or any voluntary work in any hospital. Except for one training with Asia Renal Care which was conducted last 2009 and that was only for 250 hours I think. Is thatok with AHPRA? Do i still have a chance to be approved with zero experience?4. With that being said, what do I put with my CV? Even though i don't have nursing exp, i did work for other companies that has nothing to do with Nsg. Do i put that in My CV? Is that ok? 5. What agency can you recommend?- i'm really sorry for all the questions. I will very much appreciate your help. Thanks so much.

you may be assessed you may be required to do more than just a
short bridging course which would
be on keeping of what's required of
Australian nurses, but there seems
to be no consistency with AHPRA
with the rules and assessing
international nurses, you may just
get through, it's difficult to say, you
will have to apply and be

Pass my application july 2011October 2011- received email saying i have a reg officerOCtober - dec = complied remaining docs being askedJanuary 5,2011 - received eligibility letter from aphra valid for 1 yearJanuary 7- started to scout some BP schools in perthCan anyone tell me what are other bp schools in perth aside from IhnaThanks. From what I can gather, many of the public hospitals do not longer offer it as they do not have a shortage of nurses applying for positions and this was the objective of offering an international nurses/refresher program, for the private education providers however it is their living/income and will continue to offer the program.
The only private provider in Western Australia is IHNA and Hollywood Hospital was running courses but excepting refresher nurses - local nurses with past nursing experience but none in the past 5 years first and it is the cheapest.

The list itself is the one posted on APHRA website. If you're looking for a BP provider in WA then its only IHNA that offers one. Sad to say, HPH bp program will conduct its last program this February and will undergo re-accreditation, so no dates for the next intake. You should consider BP in other states or just apply at IHNA, and hope for the best, and get selected.
This is just sad.
