New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Part 1 thread New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand - Nursing for Nurses

Thank you for giving me that ray of hope I badly need these days. I have seen your posts and I applaud your faith and optimism. This is indeed a long and tedious process. A test of patience too! Anyway, what do you think? Should I just wait in peace or keep pestering/bombarding them with emails and calls asking for feedback re status of my application? :D I better keep calm and silently wait and hope and pray for a positive outcome eh?

Well, you can do both actually. What I mean is, you can "bombard" them with emails and at the same time be patient and wait for their response. Just make sure that the tone of your letter remain positive and not combative (if you get my drift). Appeal to their kindness and not demand a response. Plead with them to have pity to your plight. I always make sure to preview and edit my letter before finally pressing send. :lol2:

thanks for the suggestion erikadioza!

for those who had bridging visas while waiting for their registrations,

may i ask what are the requirements for the bridging visa? can i apply it by myself or need to have an employer to do it for me? thanks in advance...

normally, if you do not have yet your nursing registration, then it means you do not have yet an employer because nobody will employ you without registration...

as ive mentioned in my previous post just very recently, 456 visa may be extended or not, or you may apply for tourist visa as the next visa after your 456 visa expires..

if a tourist visa holder or 456 visa holder applies for 457 visa and then if it so happen or estimated to happen that the former visa/s will expire while waiting for the issuance of the latter visa, then that's when the so-called bridging visa comes in which normally diac will approve considering your ongoing 457 visa processing... the bridging visa will bridge you from the tourist/456 visa expiry date to the issuance of 457 visa, thereby giving you rights to stay in oz within such waiting period..

I will not post messages here anymore. You guys do not appreciate my help. I just shared CURRENT AND REAL INFORMATION from overseas students who did not undergo IELTS to get the eligibility from AHPRA. Actually, I felt happy that RNs may not have to take the IELTS to have the opportunity to do the bridging program in Australia. I believe that after the BP everything will fall into place.

To Ceridwyn, sorry if your offended for overseas nurses invading Australia. If my country is not struggling right now, I will not choose to migrate to Australia.

Adios! Bye to all!

to UR49.. Can i have your Email address.? Thank you.! :)

does anyone know if University of Ballarat has an intake for BP in September or October.? Replies will be much appreciated.. Thanks.! :)

hi xekie! better have options B,C,D in planning as to where you'll take your BP, its kinda frustrating in trying to apply at HPH when in the end you were not lucky to be selected after the long wait you have done, last july, they have a total of around 180 applicants of which 25 are only selected, adding to that, you are competing with oz citizens and pr applicants too which has higher priority than us.

i will. im on the waitlist for CON's 2nd intake in 2012. Has anybody applied in ACT?

hi again xekie... i called redcross today about the senior first aid certificate.. well its the same BLS with Standard first aid.. they have it in quezon city chapter every week starting monday to saturday (6 days). you just have to go to thier office to register and pay 1,700 pesos. just try to call the chapter nearest to ur location, I think all the chapters are providing it.

hayyyyyyyssssss.... 1 week leave to do this hehehehe, do u think other BP schools also need this requirement? I am having a headache hehehehe

hmmm about the ielts, mine will expire next yr (april) so i will surely retake it. im having seconds thoughts if i should do the exam again before the end of this year so i woudnt have any problems anymore if they ask it.

well, goodluck to us!!! keep posting any updates ... thanks!

called PNRC too. training here in pampanga will be on sept5. i still don't know if i'll take a leave for that. will probably wait for HPH's confirmation before doing anything yet. their oct 2011 intake is already closed.

1) do you want to enrol in IELTS review in the Phils. and take the exam there?

or

2) do you want to do Self IELTS review here in Oz. and take the exam here ?

Me, i choose no. 1 option.... but i have no choice now, i have to do no. 2 because im already here.. im planning to call my ielts reviewer there in the phils. and arrange with her to check my writing practice tests, i'll scan and email my writing composition.. that's how desperate or how i wish that i could be in PHils. just for the ielts..

hi cioman, we're lucky to have someone like you here. i have learned alot from you. :D

anyway, my IELTS is due to expire on nov. im planning to attend review classes again and take the IELTS exam this december here in PI. hopefully, I'll be accepted in a BP program early next year.

i will. im on the waitlist for CON's 2nd intake in 2012. Has anybody applied in ACT?
