New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

World Registration

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

oh my, is that so? Isn't it the deadline for the Jan intake this end of September? How about other schools Mhai?

In Deakins, i think you could still send them your applications but i don't think they'll process it till their schedule is fixed...

Im not sure about other schools... ETEA is contemplating on opening another intake this year, that's what I heard...=)

Guys,

I need some words of encouragement...

I sent my docs to AHPRA NSW in June through FEDEX and I had FEDEX confirmation that they were delivered at AHPRA office on June 10th.

Last week I contacted their office and was told that my ielts and prc were received however they did not confirm my other documents.

I called them yesterday and after talk9ing to 3 differente people for over an hour, a guy tells me exactly like this:

- "were there many documents in the pack u sent through FEDEX ?" (I sent a pack full of docs not a simple envelope)

I told him everything that was sent in June, then he told me:

-"Would it be possible for u to send them all over again? Beacfuse I was told that there was a mail problem at the office exactly on June 10th and some docs have gone missing"

My answer: - Definitely not! Do u have any idea that I spent over 4,000 dollars with certifying and translating docs and plus sending them through FEDEX and the past 5 years of my life are there for you to simply tell me to re-send them beacuse AHPRA has lost them for no specific reason!

After my scandal and cry, he said he´d tell his manager to investigate what happened and contact me.

I think u guys can imagine how much i´ve cried and didnt sleep all night long......

I have FEDEX confirmation that the mail was delivered at AHPRA´s door and I even sent them a copy of that confirmation....

I´m completely desperate and disheartened, not knowing what to do or how to act

@NurseNathalie

Awww.. I'm very sorry to hear that. If I were in your shoes I'd tell them exactly the same thing. The mere fact that you have proof that AHPRA received your docs from the FedEx delivery guy simply points out that they were at fault here. And yes, I know how difficult, time-consuming and expensive it is for us to compile our documents. Why don't you send a formal email perhaps and address it to the manager?

Hang in there dear...

I really feel sorry for you. I just hope they do eventually find your missing documents. But it's really your loss, not theirs. I also encountered a similar problem. My registration officer emailed me last May that I need to send my TOR and course description/syllabus of my previous AB course. I tried to reason with her that I don't need to considering my previous course was totally unrelated to nursing. She did give in to my request and said I don't need to give the additional docs she wanted and that "all my documents were now complete and in order".

Two months later, she finally emailed me back after I sent several emails and voice mails to her to follow up my AHPRA eligibility. She said she needed the additional documents after all because I lack the necessary number of nursing units to be qualified. Good thing that I was able to secure the documents that May in case AHPRA really needed those documents. Had I given the additional docs she requested last May though, I would have gotten my AHPRA letter 2 months earlier.

What I'm saying here is if AHPRA will lose your documents or will take a long time to find them, it's really your loss. They won't have any basis to approve your application because of the lack of supporting papers. They can't just approve your application on the basis that you did submit complete papers but they just lost them.

I know it's a lot of money, time, and effort lost. In the meantime, your application is left hanging and the assessment cannot progress because of their ineptness. Just grit your teeth, pick up the pieces, and move on. Submit the lacking papers to them again. And if they do find the missing documents in the process of giving them the replacement, well and good. The more documents, the better. :):D

With so many applications AHPRA is processing right now, there is bound to be some missing papers along the way. That doesn't excuse them, mind you, but just a reality that things like these do happen.

They told me to send a new set of documents because they haven't received it, which was totally insane as I have tracked my mail and it was indeed received by their office. Apparently, they misplaced my documents-instead of filing them to my last name, they mistakenly placed it on my middle name. So it figures, they couldn't find my files because they filed it on the wrong name. Don't give up. Who knows, maybe your case might be similar with mine and it was just filed in somebody else's. Good luck!

Oh my. And these people thought they got through the system by lying and cheating.... not knowing justice will soon catch up with them sooner or later. This is probably why there are added security features during the IELTS test I took recently.

Imagine being one of those permanent residents to be found out having benefited from this scam. You are deported years later and banned for life from Australia.

Some desperate people, indeed, do desperate but stupid things. :crying2::eek::down:

Now that got me worried. I sent my docs in NSW, as well. I sent mine last April and I haven't received any message from a case officer/manager (they told me I was supposed to receive one). I called them up last month. The girl on the phone told me that they have indeed received my application and that it's still on queue. However, I failed to ask if they received ALL of it. I also asked them thru email if I could have my papers transferred to a different office (e.g Perth), but they still haven't replied to my e-mail. :banghead::banghead:

Guys,

thank you so much for you support and advice:redbeathe:redbeathe:redbeathe

I´ve sent them 3 more emails and I´ll wait until tomorrow morning to see if someone replies. It´s awful because when it´s day here, it´s night there and vice-versa:cry:

In case they do not reply I´ll try to contact the manager directly.

Zonroxrn, call them and ask them exactly what documents of yours they can confirm they received. I was silly to believe they´d contact me in the first place.if I had known it in advance, I´d have called them one day after i received my confirmation from fedex.

Love and prayers:)
