New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

World Registration

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

hey xekie... i tried to apply to act... haven't heard from them yet.. have you sent your application to them?

yes, i did. i emailed my application form and all the lady said was that no decision will be made for some time :(

im really hoping that id be accepted in act!

how did you know that youre in the waitlist of CON's 2nd intake?

also, is the 1st intake in 2012 already full or its just your own choice when you applied?

hi rajo,

yes, the lady mentioned that the 1st intake for 2012 is already full! :( that's why im on the waiting list for the 2nd intake. i hope she'd squeeze me in for the jan schedule.

that's sad to hear.. but let's always stay positive! good things come to those who wait :)

yes all major PNRC chapters offer it... FYI.. i had BLS ALS and Standard First Aid training with PNRC.. I also had

BLS ACLS training there in the phils. from a provider accredited by American Heart Assoc... these trainings will also be beneficial to you as they form part of your resume during job hunting..

I have my ACLS already but it expired this yr ( feb), i took it in saudi and it is accredited by American heart Assoc... also i still have my BLS but it will expire this month grrrr.. so i think i have to get a new one again .. Do i have to take the first aid too or BLS will just be ok?

thanks !!!

Hi guys! I just want to ask if anyone here who already got their eligibility had difficulty contacting their registration officer during processing? I tried to call mine several times but I only reach her answering machine. She does not respond to my recent emails as well. Is this normal or must this be a cause for alarm? It's been almost 6 months now since I lodged my application : (

i got mine after 9 mos!!! some are just lucky to have it after 4 -5 mos ;)

This is for HPH, right? Well, I believe that ACLS will do as a senior First Aid Certificate....

will my ACLS be ok if its already expired this yr (feb)? in thier requirement they say not older than 1 yr hehehehe:confused:

did the news come from DIAC, ANMC, or AHPRA? if not, then i guess we should not be worried in this kind of news.

nurses are still in their pirority list the last time i checked.

by the way, what is the type of visa should i be applying after i study for a year? the school i am enrolling won't give out graduate visas after i finish school, and i think i need enough time for me to find an employer (for a working visa), right?

anyone here tried to apply in Deakin? how long before they confirmed your application? or contacted you?
