New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

anyone help me clarify this discussion, in case i didnt get it right..

456 visa will only allow you 3 months stay, you have to apply for extension then..

676 (per my understanding) will allow you more than 3 months (depending what will be granted to you by DIAC) which will give you time after BP to process registration and find work while staying in Aus..

i don't see any problems in complying vaccines/immunizations, unless you do not have money to spend for it or if you have active TB infection then you have a problem, otherwise, what's your concern about it??

456 visa has the "no further stay"?? my 676 only allows me to stay in oz maximum 3 months per entry. is it alright if after staying for 3 months in oz using the 456 visa, i can still stay for another 3 months using the 676 visa? or do i have to exit?

is there a bcg vaccine for adults? if yes, where can i buy?

what is the usual uniform for clinical placement during bp? i want to buy the uniform while i'm still in the philippines to save money. thank you. :dncgbby:

I thought the last issued visa cancelled the other, did not think it was possible to have two.

Heard an acquaintance- recently got deported as he was not using his tourist visa as a tourist but out attending interviews and courses one of his countrymen dobbed him in....very unAustralian, cannot now enter the country for 3 years.

guys, how did you request IDP to send your IELTS TRF to APHRA?

I tried emailing them through their inquiry section in their website and a person answered me and sent me a request form and to send it back to IDP Makati. Now my problem is, Im very far from Makati. Im from Visayas. How can I send the request form and the payment as well to send it to AHPRA. I ask for bank account where I could possibly just send the money but there was none. Help!

But I don't think I'd be able to go to Cebu anytime soon. Are there any other way? Did you personal request at their office and pay the amount?

Please, New zealand and Australia may have reciprical rights, but we are totally different countries.like comparing Philipines to Malaysia or Canada and the USA. If New Zealand has ok'd you to do an education course so that you may register in New Zealand holds absolutely no weight with the Australian board.

Unfortunately you will have to apply to the board using the appropriate forms with an IELTS of 7 one sitting, plus everything the AHPRA board requires, you cannot use anything that is of New Zealand,....unless you are a registered nurse in New Zealand then that is a different story.

ps you cannot be a nzrn nor an Aussie RN until you are a citizen of that country until then you are a Nurse registered in nz or Australia.

Thanks , How have you been doing, Got lucky with my house its just 5mins walk to my workplace. I can offer temporary stay in my house once its fully furnish with a minimal rent. This is to help our fellow nurses settle in Adelaide South Australia.

Hi! Does the offer still stand? I am looking for a place to stay in Adelaide. I know of 2 who are also going :) Please let me know asap. Thank you!;)

they didn't ask me about my experience. their main concern is the AHPRA referral letter

did you apply to ahpra nsw? my eligibilty letter came from ahpra vic and although someone said in this thread that, because the boards have merged you are eligible to study anywhere with the ahpra letter, mikyong told me that he needs to have some sort of recommendation letter to do the bp in CoN.

im also interested in applying to CoN this april, I just dont know if there's still a lot of time left especially with the recommendation letter thing. thanks and all the best :)

to simplify your situation.... you are considered like many here, that is you are a new applicant of ahpra/australia..

if you want my personal advice, i suggest as in super dooper suggest, go to NZ, go thru CAP, finished it and get your NZ license.. believe me, in the long run, it is beneficial to you, wherever you may look at it (that is if you try to look at it deeply 2x then you will realize what i mean)..

dont complicate your situation, simplify it...
