New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Part 1 thread New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand - Nursing for Nurses

is it ok to have 1 year volunteer experience only?:nurse:

What I know is, they require atleast 2 years of nursing experience.

yup! IDP helped me. Im from Pandacan Manila, how about you? do you have your visa already??:redbeathe

QC:) im still waiting for my visa, just like you. Estimated waiting time accdg to my counselor is 4 weeks so probably end of Feb, hopefully:) Do you have a place to stay in SA already? Im actually looking for companions, I don't have relatives there. If all's well, I am considering the university's accommodation. How about you?

Its Feb. soon and I'd be needing time for my immunisations, to settle my financial resources (bank statements, affidavit of support, etc), i'd yet to have my medicals, i'd yet to await my letter of offer, i'd yet to get my visa, i'd also want to do some pre-reading stuff, and of course I have to settle my spouse and kids left behind.

My sister also in Australia advised me that the ideal season there is Sept - Nov coz its Spring, well Mar-May is also ideal she said :) I'd also definitely want to take my time as not to get so stressed with rushing here and there.

If you haven't enrolled yet, are you sure you still have a slot for the April intake? If yes, how did you get a slot? Isn't it that you have to enroll first?

The College of Nursing told me that as long as I passed their admission criteria and have all the requirements (IELTS, AHPRA letters, immunization records, visa, tuition fee, etc) before April 25, then I have a slot. Inform them in advance on when you would like to take the course. :)
