  1. i don't give incorrect information. i don't say it's 100% true, that's why i'm asking for a "polite and professional feedback". thanks anyway. i will still continue to inform current events and encourage every filipino who wants to be a nurse in oz. :)
  2. royal prince alfred, prince of wales, st george, st vincents, sutherland, macquarie, nepean, orange, etc
  3. didn't even bother reading, it's too lengthy hehe and i'm too tired from my shift. if i get it then i get it, if i don't then i don't. i can still manage even with very high tax!!!!!
  4. hehe i haven't heard of nurses coming from victoria or other non-nsw state to work in nsw lol! but i know FIRSTHAND of nurses coming from overseas like PHILIPPINES (RNs with little/zero exp), Ireland, UK and India coming to work in eastern Sydney. as a matter of fact, next week there will be new RNs coming to the hospital where i'm working from these foreign countries i've mentioned. filipino nurses, before you listen to anyone (positive or negative comment), know first their background. they say there's horrible employment in x place, it might be true, so it's your choice if you still wanna go there. when you hear a person saying good/bad things, check if they really have a history of discouraging/encouraging people, history of saying "i have heard of xxx failing/passing this, and history of saying fantasy/gossip/reality/based from firsthand or secondhand experience. it's your choice. i won't say good luck or just pray, but just follow the (very long and hard) steps and you'll EVENTUALLY make it with PERSEVERANCE. don't be affected by negative news, but don't ignore it either, just take it into consideration. believe you'll make it and just DO IT!!!
  5. yes i'm on 457. but i still need to gain more exp (requirement: RN grade3 or 3yrs exp) via ENS. if with GSM, i can immediately apply. but i reckon i'll just gain more exp with my 457 and not rush through my PR, since i may get the "living away from home allowance" so less tax..
  6. i feel strange for saying these things. i'm not really the type who likes to inspire people, i'm actually a coward haha! maybe i just wanna speak my mind. i'll just shut it lol!
  7. once upon a time i was a forum member aspiring to work in australia but got discouraged by xxx inside and outside of this forum. migrating to australia is VERY HARD that's why i'm posting POSITIVE MESSAGES BASED ON MY OWN EXPERIENCES to lift your spirits up. since it's based on my own experiences, it's not fantasy, it really happened, it's true. i just want to inform you what will happen to those who finished bridging program. what happened to me is i got interviewed for a job, got a job and sponsorship, and now working as RN and i love it!!! MAKE YOUR AUSSIE DREAM A REALITY!!!!! :)
  8. hi! if via general skilled migration, i reckon it's possible (but not guaranteed) that you can get the 65 points even if you don't have 1 year aussie/overseas exp if: you can have nsw state to sponsor you, partner in SOL (skilled occupation list), 25-32 years old, IELTS 8, community language (tagalog). just try computing and validate. refer to this link for the computation: http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/general-skilled-migration/pdf/points-test.pdf example (without taking into consideration work experience, also applicable to RN with zero exp!!!): 25 years old: 30 points ielts 8: 20 points nursing qualification recognised by anmac: 10 points tagalog as credentialed community language: 5 points boyfriend/girlfriend with profession under SOL: 5 points nomination by nsw state: 10 points total: 80 points about nomination by nsw, nsw will only sponsor you if you already have 65points. It's unclear if nsw will sponsor you if you have 65points without nsw sponsorship or it's okay for them to sponsor you to get additional 10points to reach 65points (confusing lol!) if via ENS, i'm not sure if the requirement is either 3 years exp (aussie/overseas) or year3 RN (2yrs exp). GSM or ENS, you still need to be assessed by ANMAC. with GSM, you get 10 points when you get assessed by ANMAC. i'm not sure if there's a points system for ENS, but there's a criteria that needs to be satisfied for ENS.
  9. i need your opinion. please help. i already got a letter of determination that says suitable for migration from ANMAC (aussie nsg and midwifery accred council). but i'm not sure if i can get the 65 points. so the letter of determination from ANMAC is worthless in my case? if i wait for 1 year, then i might get that 65 points, but my IELTS would have expired by that time.
  10. filipino nurses, there are jobs for you if you strive harder. whenever i go to nsw health jobs, there are lots of job advertisements (for those with minimum 12months exp). when you get a job in an nsw public hospital, the sponsor will always be nsw health, whatever hospital that is. but those hospitals who are willing to hire overseas nurses are in western nsw and eastern sydney mostly, based from my experience. i have validated this from RNs who are locals and from those coming from UK, Ireland and India. another thing i've validated is there are few new grad positions for local graduates, but still there are many RN positions to fill in by experienced nurses. this is 100% true as of april-sep2011. don't know about the changes now. i am encouraging you to apply in nsw bec we are so understaffed (meaning the 1:4 is not followed) and probably there are no or few jobs for overseas nurses outside nsw. i am saying this from the perspective of a volunteer nurse with little experience who did a bridging and eventually got a job in sydney. in the end, believe what you want to believe. say what you want to say.
  11. there's very few nursing (RN) students in the ward. maybe it's really true that nursing studies is not really that popular with aussie locals...hehe don't know about non-nsw states. so filipino nurses, new south wales is waiting for you! there's not much job in other states according to unreliable gossip :)
  12. filipino nurses please hurry up and come to eastern sydney! there are lots of jobs for RNs there. the ward where i'm working is very understaffed!!!
  13. i was able to exit phil without oec . phil immigration officers can't prove that 457 is a work visa since 457 visa means business long stay and 457 visa label on passport says temporary resident...:)
