New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand

Hi everyone, please help me.

I graduated last march 2007 here in the Philippines and I have my license here already.

Because of oversupply of nurses here, it's too difficult to find a job.

That's why I'm looking forward to working in Australia or New Zealand.

However, I'm confused. Esp about Australia.

I already have my bachelors degree here.

When I go there in Aus to work as RN, must I take a diploma in nursing first? can I work while studying?

After obtaining my diploma there, am I already a registered nurse?

Hi Guys, can anybody inform me of the cost for the Bridging Programs in Qld, NSW and Victoria respectively? Thanks:bow:

Qld's would be 1k -4k AUD.

NSW's program is 10k AUD.

Victoria's program is from 8k - 12k AUD.

Ok, given that a lot of information has been posted on this matter. Can i just see a raise of hands for those going to Qld',NSW, and Victoria. I ask because it would be nice to have a support group once i decide which path to take. A Tally Sheet if you may

Hehe.. :) I thought you lodged your application for NSW already? Oh.. or you mean for the college of nursing in Burwood? It's okay to apply now at least you can secure your place I've already applied for a 2010 course hahahaha... :chuckle So yours should be okay.

yup the college already gave me a spot for march 2009... but i was wondering about the visa. did you apply for a visa for the 2010 program already? let's take the 2009 hehe

I wish I could for the 2009 but it's already too late haha. I can only apply for the visa after I have enrolled but I have not enrolled yet since I am still thinking whether I should go for the CAS or not lol.
