New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand

Updated:   Published

Hi everyone, please help me.

I graduated last march 2007 here in the Philippines and I have my license here already.

Because of oversupply of nurses here, it's too difficult to find a job.

That's why I'm looking forward to working in Australia or New Zealand.

However, I'm confused. Esp about Australia.

I already have my bachelors degree here.

When I go there in Aus to work as RN, must I take a diploma in nursing first? can I work while studying?

After obtaining my diploma there, am I already a registered nurse?

Thank you!

you had a bad experience with our postal service.. tsk tsk.. im just a bit curious because so far, i had 4 snail mails from oz nursing boards, they were all delivered to me within reasonable time, like 10-15 days..

im hoping for the best on your application..

wow thats great good for you!

thank you and for you too

anybody here taking a bridging course in Mercy Health Training Institute this August 2010?

I received an email saying they will not be giving the course this year but next year they have 4 intakes

Can anyone please help me?

I'm confused with the school applications.

I applied to mercy health and I have not received any feedback yet.

I am planning to lodge my application to Deakin and Ballarat through IDP.

But those schools are just my last resort.

I really want to get into mercy.

For those who have their acceptance letters already. How did you apply to your school? did you do it by yourself or did someone help you.

I'm so frustrated already:(

ceridwyn, thank you very much for that clarification. :yeah:

hey kuri..on my part, I just applied on my own. It entailed a lot of reading and research, but hey, it's a small price to pay for our dreams, right? dont lose hope..it's okay to be frustrated as long as you dont give up...you can do it.. :):up::up: by the way, have you tried ETEA or VCHN?

Best of luck to everyone!

Hello denrag! thank you so much for the response and the encouragement!:)

with ETEA I called up and they said that they are full for this year but maybe i can get a slot if some one backs out or for next year. but I didnt bother to apply because its far from where I'm going to live.

With VCHN, I think they are strict with the hospital experience and I have none, so Im trying Mercy, AAON/ ballarat and Deakin. I think I'll apply through IDP.

How long did you wait from the time you sent your application to the time you got accepted?

God bless!

i have a question about the cv. in the document that was posted above, it was not specified that an employer should sign the cv as true. so should i just sign the cv by myself and just have it witnessed by a notary public? i've read previously in this forum that the signature of the employer was just a mistake in the website and the one that should really sign is the applicant. please clarify. thank you!

hi...does anyone remember how much does it cost for PRC to send your cert of good standing/registration directly to the Board? thank you!

* i meant from PRC to AHPRA? tnx!:)

i spent 900 for having it sent via EMS/speed mail, plus PRC fee, it should be less than 1,500... but would be cheaper if you dont want it EMS (snail mail that is)..

per previous posts of other forumers, indeed it was a mistake... correct is CV should just be signed by the applicant... employer signs the employment certificate or statement of service... good luck..
