New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand

Updated:   Published

Hi everyone, please help me.

I graduated last march 2007 here in the Philippines and I have my license here already.

Because of oversupply of nurses here, it's too difficult to find a job.

That's why I'm looking forward to working in Australia or New Zealand.

However, I'm confused. Esp about Australia.

I already have my bachelors degree here.

When I go there in Aus to work as RN, must I take a diploma in nursing first? can I work while studying?

After obtaining my diploma there, am I already a registered nurse?

Thank you!

Hi guys. For #29 I put not applicable because no one else will take care of the application for me :)

Specializes in Med-Surg / ICU / Aged Care.

tsk tsk AHPRA should provide a "guide sheet" that will assist the applicants on how to fill up the form..

nway, my bet... if you have an agency or a person who handles your application then that will be your nominated 3rd party whom you allow that your application to be discussed with.. NONE if you do not want anyone, but yourself whom AHPRA will only discussed with, and communicate about your application.

nonetheless, i hope somebody would confidently give an answer.. above is just my bet for an answer to that question... but im 99% sure, kumbaga in Poker, ALL IN..

good luck..

OH, Doza gave an answer while I was typing.. Thanks Doza..

Thanks. I am about to mail my application to AHPRA. have you mailed yours? What did you put as your third party / nominated party on section I on no. 29? Anyone please. thanks..

hi salmonella, im about to mail my application form tom or on friday, i hope they find everything well so that we dont have to resend something again :)

question to anyone...supposing i write an explanation on my impairment details, do i have to have it witnessed/ signed by a notary public or just a simple letter/statement will do? thanks :)

--i also put N/A for the third party since i would like that i would be the one to receive infos regarding my documents from AHPRA..

--also in our case that we've passed our application here in Melb, the one who witnessed our signature was a pharmacist (it could be a police, pharmacist or post master --for here in Aus) so i think that in the Philippines, notary public would do..

Hello everyone! I'm new here, but I've been reading this forum for quite sometime and it is very helpful to us. My hubby is going to take the IRCON at ETEA this coming October. We are about to apply for his 456 visa and I just want to ask a few questions regarding the application form.

1. Do we need to submit credentials such as BSN diploma, transcript, certificate of employment, professional reference, birth certificate, marriage cert., etc.? Aside from the letter of offer, receipt, and passport.

2. How can he get a multiple entry visa? What details did you write on question #2 in the visa form?

3. Does he need to apply for the health insurance for his stay in Australia? Like the OSHC.

4. How long does it take for the visa to be granted?

That's it for now. Thanks in advance! Congrats to all who made it for this year's BP! Hope to see you all there! Good luck to everyone! :D

Hi drednag! Thanks for the infos. We really appreciate it! I have another question regarding the 456 visa. In question #12 'your employment details' can he just write N/A because he recently resigned from his job as a nurse? or should he write his previous employment there?

Thanks again! I'm sure you'll all meet there at ETEA. God Bless!:)
