New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand

Updated:   Published

Hi everyone, please help me.

I graduated last march 2007 here in the Philippines and I have my license here already.

Because of oversupply of nurses here, it's too difficult to find a job.

That's why I'm looking forward to working in Australia or New Zealand.

However, I'm confused. Esp about Australia.

I already have my bachelors degree here.

When I go there in Aus to work as RN, must I take a diploma in nursing first? can I work while studying?

After obtaining my diploma there, am I already a registered nurse?

Thank you!

Guys, one quick question:

For those who sent their applications to AHPRA, which state did you send it? Should it be in ACT, or any state will do? It says in there that you should send it IN YOUR CAPITAL CITY, but since were still in the phils...

Thanks!

thanks for the answer:D..i'd rather have it thru EMS...so, the PRC wil be the one to arrange that to send it to AHPRA thru EMS..?( tama ba? ) how long does it usually takes before AHPRA gets it? thank you very much...:nurse:

from the day it was picked up and sent by post-office/EMS, 5-7 working days.. but so far, ive had been hitting 5 working days..

yes, just go to PRC and pay, then you will be given a stub and contact number for you just to contact/follow.up

the person in charge on the status of your request..

the uncontrollable timeframe is when will they be able to issue the certificate of good standing.. ask them, normally it will be signed or issued 1-3 days, thus will be sent out upon issuance.. but if the signatory is having a vacation in boracay, then that's a delay.. if your requirement is a verification of license (instead of certificate of good standing), then it will take lightyears, sometimes 2-3 months if malasin ka, for it be issued.. i assume you knew the difference of the 2..

well, manila is our capital city....:lol2: (am i correct, or technically, should it be Metro Manila...)

for us in the phils., for convenience purposes, better send it to where you will most probably have your BP.. but nowadays, available BPs are in Victoria, South Australia and Western Aus., so you choose nalang which is good for you...

warning, Western Australia is not yet officially included in the National REgistration scheme...

most of the forumers applied in Melbourne Victoria.. there is even a separate thread for that..

good luck to your application...

just continue to widen your choices bro, its very competitive nowadays, if you're lucky then you'll get what u want, but it doesnt happen all the time :twocents:.. at any rate, pray for it.. good luck..

Thanks thanks thanks so much. I will. anyway. how long did you wait from the time you applied til you got your letter of offer?

Thanks cioman.

I am researching on BP's offered somewhere in Sydney or its outskirts since I have a place to stay in Wollongong, which is an hour away.

hi guys,

i need your help

i would like to send the notification of admission to a Bridging Program, to the Nursing Board of Victoria. It's one of the documents they required applicants to submit once we have found a school and have been accepted and enrolled for the BP

my problem is,

i dont know if NBV has still the same address...

do any body here has knowledge whether NBV has a new place? considering that it has belonged to the national registration scheme?

or does NBV has the same office address location and PO Box?

thanks...

by the way, hehehe... i was granted with a multiple entry business visa... so here i go!

Hi guys!

So for the AHPRA application, you send it to their branch in the state you want to apply to? I thought it was to be sent to the address on the bottom of the application form.

Also, for PRC-Manila, if I send someone to get my requirements do I give a written authorization form only with my ID?

Thanks for all the help!

I have a question about the CV. In the document that was posted above, it was not specified that an EMPLOYER should SIGN the CV as true. So should I just sign the CV by myself and just have it witnessed by a notary public? I've read previously in this forum that the signature of the employer was just a mistake in the website and the one that should really sign is the applicant. Please clarify. Thank you!

Hi rncoco. You are correct.just sign the CV and let your employer sign your employment certificate. in may case, i just signed the CV and i attached a work statement that was signed by the employer. I did not have my CV notarized.:)

hi guys!

also, for prc-manila, if i send someone to get my requirements do i give a written authorization form only with my id?

thanks for all the help!

hi doza.if your mail will be sent through a door to door delivery, like lbc, they will not acknowledge gpo box 9958... , instead have it addressed to ahpra level 8, 111 bourke street melbourne vic 3000 that is if you are applying in victoria. you can refer to the address that was posted by liaa in the previous page.:)

i think an authorization and your id will do if you'll send someone to pick up your req'ts. to be sure, you can actually email prc manila..:)
