Hi everyone, please help me.
I graduated last march 2007 here in the Philippines and I have my license here already.
Because of oversupply of nurses here, it's too difficult to find a job.
That's why I'm looking forward to working in Australia or New Zealand.
However, I'm confused. Esp about Australia.
I already have my bachelors degree here.
When I go there in Aus to work as RN, must I take a diploma in nursing first? can I work while studying?
After obtaining my diploma there, am I already a registered nurse?
Thank you!
if you fail part a, you will be referred to the modules where you got low scores. because you failed in a you will be disqualifed for b (1 day clinical in oz). after completing the module/modules, you will go to oz for the 1 month clinical. the part b challenge test is only applicable to applicants who passed part a without completing the modules. it's a make or break scenario.
kit25 / anyone: requesting for help please regarding qnc.
just got my prc license id today. our prc certificate of registration (or "initial registration") is not yet available, and will be released sometime next year, perhaps around april 2009.
i passed the december 2007 board exam. don't have experience yet.
on the "commence date" _ /_ / _ of your qualification/college, do you write 06/01/04, even though your tor and school documents do not show the exact day of your commence/start date of your college course. i know i started june 2004, but no one could remember the exact date, tor/school docs only show that i start in june 2004.
hope you could help. i'm panicking. thank you for any assistance.

- as per qnc website, it requires certified copy of the initial registration. does this mean i could not yet send my application now because prc could not yet give me the cert. of registration? is there a way to address/solve this case? or i have no choice but to wait for the cert. of registration?

- could anyone share to me the "statutory declaration" document needed to be executed for those nurses with no experience. don't have a copy of that yet.

this is just my opinion, but maybe, you can use your license id for now. make a certified copy of it (front & back). you can also attach a letter to it stating the situation - that you have only been issued a license id but the official certificate of passing or registration will be released at a later date. i don't think this will be much of an issue since, you will need to go to prc and ask them to submit to qnc a verification of license/good standing certificate. if prc will pass this to qnc, it will just confirm that you are licensed to practice, else, why would prc send them a good standing certificate if you are not at all registered in the first place.
as for the commencement date, it would be best to ask qnc about it. when in doubt, ask the proper authorities as they will know better than anyone else. :)
Aelith,
At least the PRC told me that they will confirm my QNC license verification if i apply for it despite the unavailability of cert. of reg.
Does the QNC really reply to our email query? The last time i send query, they didn't answer.
Thanks aelith.
Hope others could shed some light to my queries as mentioned earlier.

Hmm.. that's a bit odd but yes they do reply. At least they always did reply when I email them. Sometimes it takes them days tho. Did you receive any automatic e-mail sent by QNC, acknowledging they have received your email and that someone will get back to you when they are available?
But anyway, you can try again this time and let's hope they will reply. And hopefully, someone who has the same situation will enlighten you more on this. Good luck!
To Thinkerbell:Here is the timeline of my application
Sept 03 - sent docs to NMBWA
Sept 08 - docs received by NMBWA
Sept 10 - forwarded to Manager for decision
Sept 16 - received an email informing me to take Bridging program
??????? - awaiting actual receipt of letter
The complete information about the bridging program of NMBWA can be searched in its website. It is reliable as they are the authority in Nursing in WA.
Good luck and God bless.
To Thinkerbell and Trion08,
I would just like to inform you that I received my acceptance letter from Hollywood Private Hospital for the Bridging Program run this Jan. 2009. To complete my timeline, here's the continuation of the above post I previously made.
Sept 24 - acceptance of the Letter from NMBWA requiring me to take the Bridging Program
Sept 26 - sent the application for Bridging Program and attachments to HPH
Sept 30 -received confirmation from HPH of the receipt of my application
Oct 21 - received acceptance letter from HPH to be a part of the Jan. 2009 run
I will now process my visa 456 with the Australian Embassy. I already got a return ticket even before I was accepted by HPH. Just being positive that I will get a nod from the training dept of the hospital and because the ticket was cheap.
For the others who will be interested to obtain their registration from WA, just send your queries and I will try to share with you whatever knowledge I have. I hope I can be of help to others.
Good luck to all of us and I hope we will meet in OZ in the future.
hi, i hope this will help everyone, with the help of clinica and sawsee i asked question and i am hoping this will clear thing up, like most of you i wanted to be able to earn knowing that during the bridging course i cannot be paid, there are a few points that need to be cleared, as the first and most important is 442 visa is not a student visa.
i have listed the question i asked and the one you have too, and complete with the answers.
how can i earn money and do the course at the same time?
to be able to earn money we recommend that you do a cert.111 course in aged care under 442 visa. this takes 12 months. the application for the bridging course takes 3/4 months. so they work and get paid 26.6 hrs. per week. when their results come through they may elect to finish the cert.111 course there and then...or finalize it in the 12 month period. the longer they work the more they can save towards the cost of the bridging course.
with a 442 visa you must complete your 11.4 hours a week in a class room to be accredited as a registered nurses. during this time you would be paid 26.6 hours a week and you can work overtime if available
correct
must...not engage in work in australia (other than in relation to your course of
study or training).yes.(sorry i made a mistake before with my answer aplogies.
whilst taking bridging course , how long is study for and work for, the bridging course is mon-fri. it is 8 hrs. a day mon.to fri.they don't get paid during this period..could be up to 5 mths. normally 4 mths.
after you arrive could you give me timescale of what is happening,it is a little unclear of the time lines in australia
arrive month 1yes.
start course 2 weeks later. cert.111 aged care course.
course length. usually 12 months.
start work after arrival.26.6 hrs. paid work starts 2 wks. after arrival. application for rn. bridging course is put in. assessment for rn. bridging course is done. this is at the same time that they are doing the cert.111 aged care course and being paid for work. if accepted the can start the rn. bridging course. they excellerate the finalisation of the cert.111 aged care course.//or let it run the 12 mth.term.
qualify as rn this takes 4/5 mths.
apply for permanet res after passing/qualifying as an rn. the work for 6 months then apply for pr
who and where will training be done, nominator or clinica?
the nominator is the rto in the case of the cert.111 aged care course.they organise an establishment to pay the 26.6 hrs. per week.
[color=yellow]572 visa is a student visa and work is a maximum 20hours work a week, and can work at any type of establishment of their choice..eg. mc donalds,a pub,a laundry..etc.
a 442 is an upskilling traineeship visa. it is not a student visa.."
yes under the visa it is a condition..20 hrs. a week, and as long as you like a week...when it is school holidays or not study time as much as they can..16 weeks per year is holiday time from schools and they work as much as they can.the choice is theirs.
fee charged
ielts 7+
first if feasable for anyone.
straight to bridging course
1. send resume
2. rto found
3. confirmation of acceptance payment 110,000php
this is for migration agent and part payment for clinica for arranging placement, temp accomindation, tax file, and others.
4. no further fees are required until letter granting the visa
5. 913 from submitted
6. reference number recieved
7. $a240 paid to embassy for visa
8. on visa approval has been recieved balance of fees paid 110,000php
9. flight paid, depening at the moment i looked at between 21,000 and 30,000.
these are the main fees from clinica and sawsee, along with this depending on circumstances you may not have medical done, you may need one, clinica is taking care of insurance side for me as part of their commitment.
my only other advise is to make sure you have enought money avaiable or like me a credit card for the first month.
this may not be for everyone, i myself am going straight on the bridging course, and if you want to earn while you wait you can take the cert iii course as clinica have suggested, to get started and earn money, i know not all nurses want this route, and we all wish we could just go and be nurses straight away, but a little sacrifise for a life time achievment, if you can achieve and are in a position to be able to get from ielts 5+ to 7+ in the philippines then you can save money as they said, but if you just want to go, then go the route of taking the cert iii course achive ielts in australia, and earn while you are waiting,
i hope this help, even if it only helps one person, i want to wish you all good luck, and i will keep checking in to see if i can help, i am happy and i trust who i am dealing with, i hope you will too and we will meet
thank you maria
hmm.. They didn't tell you what type of PR they are going to apply for you? There are different types and each has their own conditions. Some doesn't grant you automatic permanent residence because they are only provisional for two years.
Anyway, I have mailed them and asked that and hopefully they will answer soon. :) Thanks by the way, for updating us with that. It was really nice of you to check with Sawsee.
I wish you luck! And hopefully see you too someday.
Hi again, I hope that my answer were a little help, I have again spoken with sawsee, and as he is not a member of this site, he has said he would welcome the chance to arrange an orientation for Nurse that would be interested in learning more, not necessarily interested in training with his company, he would welcome the chance to arrange something for all of you, to learn from him so you can look else where or just be armed with new information, and he will if time is possible have Clinica sit in on the conversation online at his office, if this is of interest he has welcomed anyone wanting to know more and correct him if he is wrong 11.30am Thursday 30th october in their quezon city offices, I hope this will help anyone, like most of you i would like to help as much as i can

That would be good for anyone who wish to somehow have a better idea of Sawsee's program.
Sad to say, they replied to me but didn't want to give any information. I guess they just want to make sure they won't give out any wrong information. They also said it's a case to case basis so to speak. So please pay a visit to their office at the said time. I think it will be good for anyone who wants to know more about the program. Good luck to everyone

Maria, thanks for sharing the information about Sawsee. This is a possible route to take for those nurses who want to work in Australia. Good luck to everyone.
Hi Aelith,
If one has 1 year of experience and has IELTS, are there really other hospitals, agencies or employers ( Besides Sawsee) who are willing to sponsor foreign nurses for the bridging program? Helena, one of the people who postrd on this thread, did mention about Vertaon Hospital in Queensland that sponsor nurses for Australia. Do you have any idea about this?
By the way, I have emailed some of the agencies through the link you have provided before. It is just sad to say no one has responded yet.

Thanks Maria, will appreciate what you would share.. I assume that you would be explaining later about procedures, etc. etc. ..If it's okey, hope you could also clarify with regards to costs/expenses. These what come to my mind:
My above queries boil down to how much money should the applicant prepare initially in order to avail of this option.
Also, i'm curious, how many hours per week is the classroom instruction of the bridging program? This is important because the longer the classroom instruction per week is, the lesser is your working time which means lesser income per week (considering that you have to pay $250 per week to Clinica).
Finally, upon arriving in Austalia, could you immediately work so as to earn immediately.
Those I think are the major concerns. Thanks in advance.:wink2:
