  1. Sofia*26 and Mhaggz, Bridging Program fee for Hollywood Private Hospital will be increased to 1,100aud per Jillian Thomson effective September 2009 run. For more discussions about WA registration, please pm me so I can guide you as I had done my bridging program here in WA last Jan. 2009 run. Good luck and God bless.
  2. Hi Patuman, You can state in your visa application that you would like to return to the Phils in the middle of your program as there is a question about this(i think its in the 1st page). I said yes to this question and I was given a multiple entry 1 year visa. Cheers, Maggie
  3. Hi Patuman, Am staying at Shenton Park. It takes me 13-15 minutes walk to reach the hospital from my place. We will meet as I have met the people whom I just corresponded through the net before. Just keep on hoping and working on the realization of your dream. Cheers, Maggie
  4. Hi! I have visa 456. I was required to completely fill out the application form which I downloaded from the Australian embassy website(Manila) and to attach a copy of my birth certificate and marriage contract and the offer letter from Hollywood Private Hospital. I also attached statements of deposit and bank certificates. In my case, I did not have a sponsor but from what I heard from the others, they were sponsored by their parents. If your mother will allow her money to be placed under your name, that would be best plus her sponsorship. The amount of the show money is really relative. For it has not been clearly stated as to how much money you need to show them for a visa to be granted. A show money of 300K is a safe amount. You need to convince them that you can afford to live there for 3 months as this is the maximum length of period one can stay using a visa 456 but they can issue you a 1 yr visa 456 multiple entry with a maximum stay of 3 months per entry. Good luck and God bless. Cheers, Maggie
  5. Hi Cioman, Actually, the hospital has a library which we can use in case we were given projects like nursing care plan, scope of practice and pharmacology presentation. We are free to borrow books and use the computer in the library. One can also print his report as there is an available printer. Personally, I bought one as my DELL laptop is quite heavy (6.6lbs) so I decided to leave it in Davao. I needed a laptop because I can communicate with my family through this. It is worth buying one as it can be very lonely here and the price is reasonable. You can get a good unit for a thousand or less AUD and this has good specs already. But if you don't like to spend, you can carry your laptop from the Phils. Some of my filipino classmates did that. Good luck and God bless. Maggie
  6. hi layla, 2 years expiry decision letter. no worries and don't fret. God bless. Maggie
  7. I just corrected some of grammatical errors in the initial message.
  8. Hi Layla, You can only start applying with HPH if you have the letter from NMBWA. I suggest you send them an email inquiry about your application so that a status report can be given to you. Good luck and God bless. Maggie
  9. Hi Patuman, Finding an accommodation is one of the challenges in taking the BP here in Perth. I initially lives in East Victoria Park , a Filipina whom I've known through the internet. It is a two train ride plus a bus ride going to HPH. Before my clinical practice started, I transferred to a place near the hospital. It was all by God's blessing and kindness that I found my current place. If you like, . You can also try perthgumtree.com. That's how I found my place but without you here in Perth would be quite difficult. You can only apply with HPH when you receive your letter from NMBWA informing you of your need to complete a BP. You can send an email inquiry to NMBWA about your application. Anyway, HPH BP will start on Sept 09. Good luck and God bless. Maggie
  10. Hi Layla, So sorry I did not receive your message about the BP query. Since some of colleagues had replied already based on my previous info, I will not dwell on those questions. You can start applying now and at the same time work on increasing your experience. They are not strict of the type of experience you have for being accepted to the BP run. But your experience will help you in seeking for a job after the completion of the program. This week will be our last clinical week and by Tuesday (March 3),God willing, we will be able to obtain our license from the Board. On the 2nd week of our clinical placement, I had submitted my CV and application for employment to HPH. With God's benevolence, 4 units(Cardiology ward, ICU, Cath Lab and Theatre(PACU) offered a place for me as the Clinical Services Nurse Manager distributed my CV to the different unit managers and I accepted the job at the Cardiology ward and my sponsorship is already in process. Hopefully, this week, my sponsorship will be approved so I can proceed to file my working visa on March 3 after receiving my license. From the start of the application process and up to now, I am living on God's kindness and mercy. Of course, I also work hard and do my part but I always ask for His guidance. Even when going to my workplace, I say a little prayer to enlighten and guide me as I do my nursing tasks in the ward and to enlighten also my co workers, patients and SO of the patients. Before the job interview, I asked for the Holy Spirit's guidance and to enlighten my interviewer so that she will not be hard on me and I will be able to answer the questions well. Your performance also in the ward where you are doing your clinical practice is a big basis for getting an employment as the CNM and the nurse preceptors will evaluate you. My classmates in the BP have their placements already, some within the units where they are trained and those with experience in the theatre got jobs in the theatre. We pray for one another and for everybody. If you have questions about the process and about our experience here, please feel free to ask and I will try to give you my first hand blow by blow experience so as to guide you. Good luck and God bless.
  11. HI Patuman, I had my notarization last Sept 2008. Here in Australia, they have the justice of peace who are authorized to notarize and they don't charge a penny. For the documents needed for visa 457 submission and for PR application, one can have his docs certified by the justice of peace. Maggie
  12. Hi Patuman, That was quite expensive at P100/page. Go to the City Legal's Office at the old City Hall building and they just charge P50/document (so if you have 5 copies of your Diploma, that would still be 50). Good luck and God bless. Maggie
  13. Hi Patuman, I started my BP last January 05 and it will end by Feb 27(God willing). I have started submitting my application letter and CV to HPH so that by the time I get my license(hopefully 1st week of March), they can process my nomination for sponsorship and can start with my application for working visa. Still, everything will depend upon God's plan for me. I entrust Him my future. Good luck and God bless. Maggie
  14. Hi Kit, Our BP runs for 8-10 weeks. We had 4 weeks theoreticals and 4-6 weeks in clinical practice(usually 4 weeks only unless you have some issue in your practice which would require you to extend). I am now going to my 2nd week of clinical practice. Our program timeline is theoreticals from Jan 05 till Jan 30 then clinicals from Feb 2-27. Currently, I am renting a room near the hospital. It is a 12-15 minute walk from my place to the hospital so I am spared of the cost of transportation which cuts on your budget. I am renting my room for 140aud/pw. Your food depends on your lifestyle. 50aud/pw grocery is more than enough for you if you will cook your own food. If you are fond of eating out, you need to chunk out 7aud/meal. What I do is cook my own food. As with the toiletries, they are a little bit expensive but there are times that the supermarkets put these stuff on special sale from time to time and they become cheaper that the prices we've got in the Phils. A safe budget pe rmonth is 1,000aud and am even spending less than that. I brought my own toiletries for three months use. But I don't advise you to as you can buy them here. Good luck and God bless. Cheers, Maggie
  15. Hi! This is a requirement of NMBWA and I had complied this. You are right that PRC will be the one to send this certification of good standing to NMBWA. NMBWA do not require the Verification of REgistration as you are just required to submit a certified true copy of your certificate of registration which PRC mailed to you(looks like a diploma). I requested Verification of Registration for my NCLEX application and I know that this takes 4 weeks since I am from the province and this request needs to be forwarded to PRC HO for verfication. Never fret. Just inquire from PRC in you area if you request a certification of good standing, how many days can they release it? Good luck and God bless. Cheers, Maggie
