Hi everyone, please help me.
I graduated last march 2007 here in the Philippines and I have my license here already.
Because of oversupply of nurses here, it's too difficult to find a job.
That's why I'm looking forward to working in Australia or New Zealand.
However, I'm confused. Esp about Australia.
I already have my bachelors degree here.
When I go there in Aus to work as RN, must I take a diploma in nursing first? can I work while studying?
After obtaining my diploma there, am I already a registered nurse?
Thank you!
yup i emailed them and the same reply i recieved from them.. are you applying to VCHN? did you start your application with them? you're right.. i also emailed them if i can only have the work placement and the conversion of visa to work permit and not the accomodation because i have my accomodation in perth.. but no reply yet..do you heard from someone if the offer of VCHN is really true? we'll if that is true is ok to pay 7K coz you will have a job and a PR soon.. what do you think?
where state do you plan to register? me im on NMBWA..
hi, lime12..yes, I will try to apply at VCHN. I am still gathering my documents and I might submit them next week.
Actually, aside from you, I have not talked to anybody who applied or is planning to apply at VCHN. I believe the 7k package is true, though, because the agent is really accredited with VCHN.
My VCHN application will be supported by my letter of assessment from NMBWA. I will try Curtin also as I have several friends from Davao who are going there, too.
I am also still waiting for my NBV letter, though. So, as you can see, I have not yet really decided which state I'd go to.
Best of luck to all of us!
im currently completing vaccination reqt for curtin uni here in the phil.. whoo.. with the tuition and these plus other expenses my parent's were in a tight budget.. haha.. but can still eat 3meals and snacks a day.. hoping that God will provide more and more blessings.. to come!!! i think u should get all the vaccines there in UK except the MRSA swab.. first get a tuberculin testing.. hope we can help each other
awww.. so expensive here.. anyway did you try VCHN? have you heard something about VCHN? they have work placement in perth or victoria after completion of the 10 week BP and they will assist you in processing work visa. but you have to pay them additional amount for that sevice.. but i'm not sure if that is true.. well i guess if that is true i would rather enrol in VCHN. cheaper and faster.. i hope.. hehe.. and they have intake almost every month.. hayy good luck to us..

Hi!! I really didn't browse all the replies you have.. but i want to share somethin to you since currently im a student here in Victoria, Australia.. I'm a Filipino, did finished my bachelor's degree there and opt to make some changes in my career so I applied for Australia for a bridging course... My studies about to end by mid of this year, just waiting for my hospital placement to complete..
First, studying here is too costly.. i mean VERY VERY expensive.. so you need some support for that...
Second, when you apply for bridging course like a 7-week program, a training course for qualified overseas nurse, you need at least 1 year experience in hospital training (that's what Nurses Board of Victoria requires). But i dont know with some other states... and your IELTS should be 7 in all subtests..
first you need to apply to Board of Nursing for your qualifications which would take approximately 6 months.. if you are qualified then they will send you a letter of qualification then u can proceed to enrol at a qualified institution for this brigding course. The cheapest in Victoria is in University of Ballarat with about 10,000 AUD. You will be on a Business visa, a short term visa for the duration of your course in which you will not be allowed to work part-time here..
Another pathway is (which I took) is on STUDENT visa.. which is enrolling at a Bachelor's of Nursing Degree in a university, which takes me 1 year and half to complete the course. Meaning you have 3 semesters to comlete and ofcourse triple the price for your tution fee.. but the good thing though is that, you need not to apply to Nurses Board of Victoria.. you do not need a 7 score in all subtest for your IELTS.. just 6.5 i think... and you can apply to a university even without hospital experience (as in my case as well), plus student visa means longer stay here (up to the duration of your course), you can work up to 20 hours a week, and you can bring your spouse and children..
Hope this info will help you...
Cheers!!
@heart-block
that was a very helping information.. anyways, i just want to ask how about student visa for age care work? is it too expensive like the conversion or BP course? what course are you taking now? Im thinking twice if im going to apply as a student visa in Ausi because like what u have said its too costly:(
@zyann
Currently I'm in Bachelor of nursing Post-registration... so as what I've said.. it would take me 1 yr and a half to complete this course.. but the advantage though is that after completion i'll earn a degree.. meaning my Bachelor of Nusing would be Australian Degree now.. so a boost in your CV.. hehehe..
And also.. since I'm on a student visa.. I have my spouse with me here as well in Australia.. so both of us can work up to 20 hours a week.. which an help in my tuition fee..
You can also enrol in age care course WHILE you are in bachelor of nursing... age care course would take 1 month to complete so while you're studying for BN you can work in an age care facility..
BUT take note that age care certificate course is NOT eligible for a student visa application.. meaning it is not recognized by the immigration..
certificate III in age care cost about 1k AUD.. you just need this so you can work in an age care facility while you study for your degree.
hope this help..
Cheers mate!!
