Hi everyone, please help me.
I graduated last march 2007 here in the Philippines and I have my license here already.
Because of oversupply of nurses here, it's too difficult to find a job.
That's why I'm looking forward to working in Australia or New Zealand.
However, I'm confused. Esp about Australia.
I already have my bachelors degree here.
When I go there in Aus to work as RN, must I take a diploma in nursing first? can I work while studying?
After obtaining my diploma there, am I already a registered nurse?
Thank you!
hey yayey :)have u applied to the list of BP stated in that letter from the NMBWA? i applied to all of them and they were all full and most of them will cease to provide the BP soon. like i said, sa curtin, last intake is this march 2010.that leaves you the conversion.thats what me, ana, armi, and so many others are doing right now...what do u plan to do with ur LoF?
Hi sunchaser1019, have you also tried VCHN before? Are their intakes for BP already closed also? I received my assessment letter from NMBWA and VCHN is among the accredited BP providers listed.

regarding the financial matters, i just asked for a bank statement from my tito , showing his money was in the bank, 3 months prior to lodging my visa.then i downloaded online his bank transactions for the past 3 months :). it doesnt have to be in ur name or to be a relative,.anybody will do as long as they give an affidavit of support which my tito did)...
thats it, pay sem 1 tuition, insurance and visa fee of course, then off to Au :)
but i will ask again tomorrow regarding lodging an application from UK.
@ drednag:
Yup VCHN is on the list. but i didnt really pursue it because the last time i checked, the intake was 2009. i havent checked back because i wanted to get the BP from RPH or the other universities. i figured if i get a degree (from conversion) i can choose which pathway to get my PR: thru university degree holder or skilled migrant...if i were u, try to contact VChN andd ask them if they still offer the BP...again , all the best to all of us :)

hi thanks a lot.. is your uncle in ausi also? is he a permanent resident in ausi? so for your financial requirements you just past a bank statement from your uncle (banks statement or bank certificate?), and 3 months transaction then the affidavit of support? how much money did you show? i was confused about what is written in immi coz they said i have to declare that i have access in that money im going to show and that i need proof like payslip for them to know where did my money came from? do this rule really implemented?
thanks for your effort i really appreciate it and someday when we meet in ausi i might treat a dinner.. hehe... thanks and goodluck.. Godbless..
@lime 12:
oh no, nothing like an access thing. that's waht some people said, but me and a friend just submitted an Aff of support, u know just saying that the money is intended for schooling and living expenses.i gave them a certificate of employment of my tito as well.and hes in new york...bank statement and bank transaction-its a pretty routine thing because when my tito asked the bank of america for it, they knew already which documents to give.and should u know, a sponsor doesnt have to be a Au res, could be anybody else. 3 people taking conversion with me asked their neighbors and local banks (rural banks? ) :)..oh and i will be at curtin this pm. i should have an update regarding your lodgement. cheers!
here are some schools offering the nursing conversion programmes :1.http://www.flinders.edu.au/courses/undergrad/bng-registered/

hi .. can someone please tell me how to go about a statutory declaration/affidavit please?? stating why u dont have RN experience. i was told that a letter with your signiture along with notary is not a stat dec!!! in australia they get it from the police station.. but in philippines how to do it please? i asked our notary public about it but they have no clue!
okayyyy! i already researched online and this is how a stat dec looks like!!
got it from the http://www.ag.gov.au/statdec
@lime12:
dude, i talked to the one in charge of the BP/Conv program and she referred me to the international office. what they said was that u dont have to go through IDP, because u can lodge it urself at the Au embassy there in UK. the 1st thing u need to do is to apply online ( curtin website,-international future students); comply with the documents needed then apply. once u receive ur Letter of offer, the international office(which by the way is the one who assesses applicants and not the Nursing dept) will guide u on a step-by-step in processing ur visa.
Break a leg!!!
Cheers!!! :)
