Hi everyone, please help me.
I graduated last march 2007 here in the Philippines and I have my license here already.
Because of oversupply of nurses here, it's too difficult to find a job.
That's why I'm looking forward to working in Australia or New Zealand.
However, I'm confused. Esp about Australia.
I already have my bachelors degree here.
When I go there in Aus to work as RN, must I take a diploma in nursing first? can I work while studying?
After obtaining my diploma there, am I already a registered nurse?
Thank you!
I can help you with that. I'm attending the bp this feb. Orientation will start Feb 15. I'm leaving Feb 1. Just complete your immunization. The health status check/forms will be done during prep week and orientation week. I think the deadline is around March. :)
can i ask any health institution to do tuberculin test first? where did you get yours? i have my baby book with me. i already made an arrengement to my well baby doctor to certify and sign my papers. for instance i had dat specific dses when i was i child do i have to get a vaccine for that or not? my BP is sem2..

march deadline? is dat for sem1 only or does it apply to me also? huhu
@ DREADNAG: That's what I was thinking too, 200k is indeed a little high I've checked with the POEA and I think they are legal, I also saw the job order from http://www.workabroad.com.ph which is also connected with the POEA.It's standard protocol that a recruiting agency can only charge a placement fee not in excess of your 1 month's salary to the job that you will be working for abroad. If that is the case will that mean that the proposed salary reach somewhere near 200k? are aussie nurses earning that high?
thanks guys!

Yup. Tuberculin test first..Any doctor will do as long as there is evidence in writing that you're vaccinated. The march deadline is for sem 1 only. Don't worry too much. Hope to see you in Curtin soon :)
I had to send new documents since they asked for additional info regarding my commencement date. Hope i get to join the train going to NBVs Bridging program. As of the moment how many bridging course provider are still available? I know there used to be a list but I was hoping if someone could provide info again.Does Ramsey still offer it ?
Hi countmein,
Unfortunately, Ramsey Health won't be running an IRON program in 2010. I inquired to them recently. Regarding NBV, were you able to receive an acknowledgement letter from them first or just the letter asking for additional info? Thanks.

ok.. thanks for enlightening me.. hahahah... see u.. lets keep posted.. i want to hear about the BP.. hope to see feedbacks from u in this site.. or maybe we can have a personal contact.. hehhe...thanks again.. gudluck to u.. and to everyone here...
@reiken do we have other options? any other institutions? i tried doin a research with nbv's approved course providers... but they dont provide straight forward details... except deakin, la trobe, ballarat, mt. alexander, and there's one more, forgot the name!
what i did was i practically emailed nearly every bp providers in both nmbwa and nbv's lists before finally deciding to lodge my application to nbv. but so far in victoria, deakin, la trobe and eata are the institutions that gave me comprehensive details of their courses. the rest are either full or only offering the program to return-to-practice local (australian-educated) nurses. the last time i checked, eata and mount alexander's intakes for february and may 2010 are already full but based on the schedule of intakes (courtesy of ryan09) eata might be able to accommodate new applicants for later intakes within 2010; while saint vincent's & mercy private no longer offer the program; i did not get any reply from university of ballarat though with regards to their intake schedules.
we have limited choices of bp providers as of this time but we can scour for other options later on... we can compare notes/updates later on.
we have new issues to deal with for the mean time that is looming to cause further delays in our applications like the commencement date (month and year only) reflected commonly in our school transcripts that is bothering a number of people here, i, myself, is not exempted
mine only reflects "summer 2002-2003" in my tor but only indicated in the commencement date of my application to nbv as "april 2003" although i have indicated a specific graduation date "march 22, 2006" so, if that was an issue with countmein's application, that might pose a similar problem (lord forbid!) to the rest of us here like drednag and others who also applied in nbv. it can be daunting, i tell you. that's what i am personally anticipating for now.
