New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand
@Lithotomy I find you really amusing. But seriously, if you need any help with your exam. I'll be meeting up with Haoyin, maybe you'd like to join us. I could lend you some review materials for your IELTS.

@NewMac I wasn't asked to submit any Stat Declaration, though I myself haven't got any work experience as well.

New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand
Hi gemini_star, Haoyin might be referring to me. This is my timeline: Certificate of Good Standing (CGS) Sent via ordinary post - End of Nov 2009 Application sent - 07 Dec 2009 Received letter requesting for CGS - 26 Feb 2010 CGS Sent 2nd time (via DHL) - 02 Mar 2010 Received letter of approval - 11 Mar 2010 You might notice that the letter of approval came too soon after the second CGS was sent. I suspect that my first CGS arrived nevertheless...after 3 months. :vlin:

Hi, kristeeta. Allow me to quote this from an email response from them: "The Division 1 graduate program is for newly qualified nurses who have their registration with the nurse's board of Victoria and have less than 12 months working experience as a Division 1 Nurse." :) Hope it helped a bit.

Hi countmein, Unfortunately, Ramsey Health won't be running an IRON program in 2010. I inquired to them recently. Regarding NBV, were you able to receive an acknowledgement letter from them first or just the letter asking for additional info? Thanks.

Bridging program in vICTORIA? anyone? did, doing? plans?
hi drednag, How were you able to send your Cert of Good Standing? Did you buy them a mailing envelope? Did you write down the address on a piece of paper? Was there any form to fill-out? How was the process with you? Did they inform you, that it can only be sent by ordinary mail? Sorry, too many questions. Thanks for answering any or all

Hello, Seems like PRC is not used to sending the Cert of Good Standing (CGS) to state boards. Anyway, just my opinion. They gave me CGS for NBV license verification, correct, right? Then they assumed that I am the one to send it to wherever I want to. So, I explained to them that the state board needs it to come directly from them, the girl instructed me to buy a non-metered envelope. Then jot down the address in the attached bond paper (which is my photocopied PRC id). Pay for mailing fee, have it docu stamped. So after doing all that she required, she returned the empty envelop to me and said, that was ok, and they will just send it. I don't know if its just me, I don't think they are quite familiar in sending Cert of Good Standings. How was the process with you guys who applied for NBV? Anyway, anyone here has got PRC's no.? I kind of misheard the number she mentioned with all the rush and confusion. TIA

situation: need hospital experience and willing to spend
Shouldn't the PNA need to have a say on this? I mean if only they will speak up and uplift the profession, I will follow, I'm sure, We, will follow and join the bandwagon. We're all forced to do this (paying to volunteer) anyway. If only there is a consensus that, if I vacate my volunteer slot, no one will be there the next day doing my volunteer job and paying my volunteer fee. Shouldn't there be a partylist for nurses in the congress? And tell them that most people are in this profession because they want to leave the Philippines? Or a non-profit organization called Alliance Of Concerned Nurses Because PNA Won't Bother (ACNBPNAWB). On the other hand, I think it's human nature too to seek the greener pasture. People were lured to the profession by the thought of easy money, only to be dumbfounded of how nursing has become in the Philippines nowadays. I think the profession was victim of this phenomenon. If they say that Architects are very in demand abroad, pays well and Filipino Architects are especially sought after, I guess people will flock to this profession too; and soon there would be volunteer Architects as well. The only solution I can think of right now is to address the root cause, that we first stop being Filipinos & love our country.....................Right, too far-fetched. Now, I'm lost.

Just curious, are RN, RMs paid more than RNs only, even if they are doing the same nursing job?

Any second coursers here who received a positive assessment from NBV? Did you include your TOR from 1st course?

Thanks for the reply gast. Yes, I don't think they require experience. Some posters here received a positive assessment even w/o experience, but i think they were first coursers. I am a 2nd courser. I need as much credentials as I can get. I think. :anbd:

New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand
Hello guys, Do you think I can request for a recommendation letter even if I am still in an on going training? I plan on finishing my six-month training/volunteerism (currently on my 4th month); But I need a work statement for NBV. If I ask for a certificate of an ongoing training, or a recommendation letter, it is as good as informing them - I am about to leave, right? So no more chance of eventually getting hired. Should I just declare a zero experience at my NBV application? What do you guys suggest? Thanks

For ArmiRN or blinq: Just for confirmation: How much is the course fee for the bridging program at Curtin, since you will just be taking it for 1 semester? Is it AUD 11,500, half of the indicative price at the Curtin website? I understand that the intake for international applicants is only during the 1st semester? Does it mean February only? Thanks in advance.
