New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand

Updated:   Published

Hi everyone, please help me.

I graduated last march 2007 here in the Philippines and I have my license here already.

Because of oversupply of nurses here, it's too difficult to find a job.

That's why I'm looking forward to working in Australia or New Zealand.

However, I'm confused. Esp about Australia.

I already have my bachelors degree here.

When I go there in Aus to work as RN, must I take a diploma in nursing first? can I work while studying?

After obtaining my diploma there, am I already a registered nurse?

Thank you!

I had to send new documents since they asked for additional info regarding my commencement date. Hope i get to join the train going to NBVs Bridging program. As of the moment how many bridging course provider are still available? I know there used to be a list but I was hoping if someone could provide info again.

Does Ramsey still offer it ?

Hi, countmein, why did they ask additional info regarding your commencement date?:uhoh3:

@dregnang since my commencement date merely had the month and year just indicated.. and m worrying since m a second courser.. what do you guys think? know of any second coursers who were able to get thru NBV?

uh oh.... i just pluck a number for my commencement "day" since it is not mentioned in my records... is it gonna be a problem?

@drednag i will email the rest as soon as i get the magic letter. i emailed NBV to check whether etea is approved or not, no reply yet. i hope deakin will extend their closing date or la trobe -to offer its course in the melb. suburb area. :)

Oh no, mine just states the month and year, too....and I am a second courser...what document did you send to clarify the matter?

i think it was chabeli who also chose the first/second monday of june as his commencement "day" -if im not mistaken -& she's fine.

first/second courser? are there any dis/ad/-vantages??

countmein...sent you a pm...

hey guys ... i'm just wondering here how come NBV doesn't seem affected with the natl registration coming up while QNC had to make a cutoff for the bridging prog ... can anyone enlighten me pls?

tnx in advance :confused::confused:

drednag so you are a second courser? glad to know you are! i feel relieved somehow. let us know of any progress on your papers for that matter. i recall u are just waiting for your eligibility from NBV following submission of all your requirements. God bless us all!

i wonder if there are 2nd coursers out there albeit no clinical experience, successfully got an eligibility from NBV?

when i called NBV i asked about this twice but nothing is formally announced yet according to the board, -changes, new rules/regulations whatsoever, the existing regulations remain in effect.

Good Morning to everyone! esp. to all my fellow pinoys. What a great site this, is a blessing to all nurses indeed! Just need to ask, have you guys heard about an agency called Allied International? they are hiring nurses with atleast 3 years exp., they are connected with Blue Tongue of Australia which is also an Australian Based Manpower firm. Have any of you guys stumbled upon them? If so what are your thoughts about them or their offers? I'm sending a "feeler" about them because I don't want to make a long term decision that will eventually lead to regret in the future.I have heard that they are requiring a placement of around close to 200k pesos if you become successful in the application, you get to be an "enrolled nurse for the 1st 3 months then if u meet the standard you will be assisted to become RN by Blue Tongue and sign a contract...

Any feedback both negative and positive will be most welcome....

will be waiting for your replies

God Bless the pinoy!

By the way guys, Allied International is a local recruitment agency whereas Blue tongue will be your prospect employer if ever you become successful, Blue tongue will provide everything free of charge including airfare to Aus. if you succeed. the "alleged" 200k placement will be for Allied not for Blue Tongue.

Hmmmm, I haven't heard about Allied International, ploy_jam... but dont you think their fees is a little high? if they require a placement fee and if you want to check whether or not they are on the up and up, it would be best to check with the POEA if they are registered as recruiters (Allied..). If they are then, good..all you have to do is weigh their fees against the benefits (which I believe, are many:lol2:)...

Anyway, I wish you luck, do keep us posted.:)
