Hi everyone, please help me.
I graduated last march 2007 here in the Philippines and I have my license here already.
Because of oversupply of nurses here, it's too difficult to find a job.
That's why I'm looking forward to working in Australia or New Zealand.
However, I'm confused. Esp about Australia.
I already have my bachelors degree here.
When I go there in Aus to work as RN, must I take a diploma in nursing first? can I work while studying?
After obtaining my diploma there, am I already a registered nurse?
Thank you!
hello! im joi, and im pretty new in the forum. my friend told me about the talk here and so i decided to have a look and register. there are few questions i would like to ask, since i have not seen proof while i did some back reading.
anyway, are there 2nd coursers without experience who applied for bridging program in victoria, sydney and melbourne? please i need concrete feedback on you guys if any of you has a positive outcome? so i could think of applying the soonest possible without wasting a lot of money because i know it cost that much. new zealand i heard does not accept 2nd coursers but recently ive heard they already accept 2nd coursers with experience. im not very sure though i was just told by friends.
thank you and happy new year everyone!
Hi there!! I passed my application (NBV) last week of October and just today I received a letter informing me to submit a Statutory Declaration. I have to idea how am I gonna do this..help please!!!
Another thing, they are asking me for the Cert. of Good Standing since according to them they haven't received yet. I find this absurd since I haved tracked it (send it via LBC)and it shows that it was received first week of November. How come it was misplaced?.. Do I need to resend it again? (quite pricey though)
Thank you and Happy New Year!!
Can I please remind members not to post contact names. If you know things have been signed for and have a name then disucss this with th erelevant body not post name on here. If you have prrof of signature then delays may be due to the holiday period but at least you have a name you can give the nursing board.

hi, ricci88, what kind of Statutory Declaration are you required to submit? If Im not mistaken, I think statutory declarations are like our "Affidavit" where in you declare several statements (the veracity or truthfulness of which you can vouch for) and you affix your signature on it and have your declaration notarized by a notary public (officer authorized to give oath)...
I had an experience with the same courier before and while their tracking report suggests that the intended recipient has received the package, when I investigated, it was not actually true as the courier lost my package...I had to resend using another courier. I asked LBC to refund me for my expenses, and they did but I had to prove my complaint.
Don't worry, everything will be fine...just submit what is asked from you. I, too, am waiting for my application with NBV and I believe in due time, God willing, I will have the result I am hoping for.
As they say, good things come to those who wait.
hello to everyone in this forum... i just would like to know for those who are processing their applications are IELTS passers already?
Hi, blessed23...uhhmm, am I right that you are asking if those who have submitted their applications to different nursing boards have already taken the IELTS?
Here's my two cents worth.. I think it is best if you have already attained the required IELTS score when you submit all your application documents..this would minimize delays. However, you can also submit your application package even if your have not yet taken your IELTS and immediately take the IELTS exams thereafter, but bear in mind that this could mean a slight delay in the processing of applications as your packet is not complete. You see, effective July 2009, the different states' nursing boards in australia, as well as the ANMC, have made IELTS minimum 7,7,7,7 score as a pre-requisite to getting a positive assessment and acquiring that much coveted letter of eligility to take the bridging course for overseas nurses.
:D:D
Go for it, blessed23, Im sure you will do good... Good luck and God bless!

Hi, guys! Are Philippine Red Cross BLS and First Aid Training certificates required prior to undertaking the bridging studies in Victoria? Does it have to be simply First Aid or "Senior First Aid" certificate? (as what I understand for those who are taking their courses in Western Australia) You see, I had these trainings in Red Cross back in 2007 but are only valid for 1 and 2 years respectively. So, if the schools or hospitals (for clinical placements) are requiring these, I might as well re-enroll for these trainings to renew the certificates while waiting for the NBV's assessment letter. What do you think? Any inputs chabeli, ryan09 or those who are already there in Victoria taking their bridging courses? :sstrs:

hi, no you dont have to...
guys, dont overdo your application as it might be a cause of so many inaccuracies...just submit the necessary documents that the state board of nursing is requiring you to...well, requirements vary in each state...
in victoria, you are only required to submit your TOR, diploma, goodwill standing, employment cert. (if theres any), initial reg cert.,and the application forms...of course the ielts or oet results form...THESE ARE THE REQUIREMENTS YOU NEED TO PROVIDE...NOTHING MORE NOTHING LESS...of course with the exception of additional cert. such as stat dec...if you are only required to...dont overdo it as it might just confused you and the state board of nursing of your choice...
good luck nurses! :)

I also did the same thing, countmein. My school transcript only indicated the month and year of my commencement date to the school (April 2003 - since I enrolled summer of 2003 in Manila) but had an exact date for my graduation (March 22, 2006) so I only wrote April 2003 for the commencement part and 22 March 2006 for the graduation. I thought it would be more of a risk if I guess the exact date I got into the school... Let's just hope it would not pose a problem.
