Hi everyone, please help me.
I graduated last march 2007 here in the Philippines and I have my license here already.
Because of oversupply of nurses here, it's too difficult to find a job.
That's why I'm looking forward to working in Australia or New Zealand.
However, I'm confused. Esp about Australia.
I already have my bachelors degree here.
When I go there in Aus to work as RN, must I take a diploma in nursing first? can I work while studying?
After obtaining my diploma there, am I already a registered nurse?
Thank you!
i passed the ielts. woohoo!next pitstop: challenge test
land down under,wait for me.....
but for now, need to start cramming...hihi..
congrats! by the way, i just want to ask if you have submitted your application in Queensland but you have never taken the ielts yet? So it means they process the application without the ielts.
siur branyan correct me if im wrong u said you failed the clinical part A of the module you took that module in australia i thought that the failed module in part A will be taken here in the philippines
Pls. click the link below so that you will have a better idea of the CAS program.
There are 4 components or subjects in the written exam (part A) of the challenge test, when I took part A here in the Phils. I failed 2 out of the 4 components/subjects - Professional practice and evidence based/clinical issues - hence I was not allowed to proceed to the 1 day clinical challenge test (Part B) but was directed to the 2 educational modules - Transition to Professional practice and Clinical practice/placement educational modules. I did the Transition to P.Practice module here in the Phils. via distance learning/education, after finishing it, I then took the next required module - clinical practice - this is the 1 month clinical placement in Aus.
If you do not want to go through the Challenge Test, you can opt to go straight to the educational modules, there are 4 educational modules, 3 theoretical (you can do it here in the Phils. via distance learning) and 1 practical (this one is done in Aus).
oh i'am well enlightened with your response sir branyan. By the way can i ask you how's the part A exam is it difficult to answer, i know all of us here in the forum would like to have an idea if the test will be easy or not and how's the clinical part in australia, is it similar to our RLE here in the philippines thanks for your replies i appreciate it very much.

Ho Branyan,
I appreciate your diligence of informing other nurses (like me) in this thread, and so happy for you of passing and finally a registered nurse in Australia. You even did it on your own. I am very proud of you coz I do recommend that we should do it on our own too. But with the help and information of our co-nurses here in this thread.
Can I do my challenge test here from Davao City. Oh by the way, I am from Davao City and I hope co- nurses from Davao City can give me some inputs too.
Thank you.
