Hi everyone, please help me.
I graduated last march 2007 here in the Philippines and I have my license here already.
Because of oversupply of nurses here, it's too difficult to find a job.
That's why I'm looking forward to working in Australia or New Zealand.
However, I'm confused. Esp about Australia.
I already have my bachelors degree here.
When I go there in Aus to work as RN, must I take a diploma in nursing first? can I work while studying?
After obtaining my diploma there, am I already a registered nurse?
Thank you!
Hi Layla,
So sorry I did not receive your message about the BP query.
Since some of colleagues had replied already based on my previous info, I will not dwell on those questions. You can start applying now and at the same time work on increasing your experience. They are not strict of the type of experience you have for being accepted to the BP run. But your experience will help you in seeking for a job after the completion of the program.
This week will be our last clinical week and by Tuesday (March 3),God willing, we will be able to obtain our license from the Board.
On the 2nd week of our clinical placement, I had submitted my CV and application for employment to HPH. With God's benevolence, 4 units(Cardiology ward, ICU, Cath Lab and Theatre(PACU) offered a place for me as the Clinical Services Nurse Manager distributed my CV to the different unit managers and I accepted the job at the Cardiology ward and my sponsorship is already in process. Hopefully, this week, my sponsorship will be approved so I can proceed to file my working visa on March 3 after receiving my license.
From the start of the application process and up to now, I am living on God's kindness and mercy. Of course, I also work hard and do my part but I always ask for His guidance. Even when going to my workplace, I say a little prayer to enlighten and guide me as I do my nursing tasks in the ward and to enlighten also my co workers, patients and SO of the patients. Before the job interview, I asked for the Holy Spirit's guidance and to enlighten my interviewer so that she will not be hard on me and I will be able to answer the questions well. Your performance also in the ward where you are doing your clinical practice is a big basis for getting an employment as the CNM and the nurse preceptors will evaluate you. My classmates in the BP have their placements already, some within the units where they are trained and those with experience in the theatre got jobs in the theatre. We pray for one another and for everybody.
If you have questions about the process and about our experience here, please feel free to ask and I will try to give you my first hand blow by blow experience so as to guide you.
Good luck and God bless.
Hi Aelith, I have just received my IELTS score: obs-7. Speaking 7, Listening-8.5, Reading and Writing-6.5. I know that I cannot apply in Queensland with these results but can I apply for a 2 year education of Nursing in a University?
I don't know if I would take the IELTS again or go to a different route which is Canada. :uhoh21:
Do you need to have IELTS first before you can apply at QNC?
As far as I know, you don't. However, it is a requirement before they can give you the go signal for the CAS program. Meaning, you can pass all the requirements except the IELTS and have QNC assess your docx, then later pass your IELTS result when it is available.

You can apply in several Universities using your IELTS score - but you cannot use this in some since some Unis have higher requirements (e.g. Usyd requires a minimum of 7 in all bands). If, however, you would want to enroll in the Universities with higher requirements, you would be given a conditional offer. It means, that you would have to enroll in their english programs or retake IELTS before you get a firm offer.
Studying would mean that you'd be shelling out more cash. Retaking the IELTS exam would be more practical. But it is entirely up to you.

Can you give some info for addresses of place to stay, if ever I'll be accepted there in NMBWA. MY application for NMBWA is still on process, can I apply to do bridging now in HPH or wherever in PERTH?
Thanks again.

Ho Branyan,I appreciate your diligence of informing other nurses (like me) in this thread, and so happy for you of passing and finally a registered nurse in Australia. You even did it on your own. I am very proud of you coz I do recommend that we should do it on our own too. But with the help and information of our co-nurses here in this thread.
Can I do my challenge test here from Davao City. Oh by the way, I am from Davao City and I hope co- nurses from Davao City can give me some inputs too.
Thank you.
Hi, I'm not really sure if they have one in Davao, I did mine in IDP Makati. I'll try to find out if CAS has a partner like IDP there in Davao. Right now IDP has only two branches, one in Makati and the other is in Cebu.

Thanks Sir Branyan. I hope they have one too in Davao. Anyway I'll do some searching again for some other pathway possible for the moment. Thanks and good luck for your future endeavours in Aus.
GOD BLESS,
