Hi everyone, please help me.
I graduated last march 2007 here in the Philippines and I have my license here already.
Because of oversupply of nurses here, it's too difficult to find a job.
That's why I'm looking forward to working in Australia or New Zealand.
However, I'm confused. Esp about Australia.
I already have my bachelors degree here.
When I go there in Aus to work as RN, must I take a diploma in nursing first? can I work while studying?
After obtaining my diploma there, am I already a registered nurse?
Thank you!
Hi Aelith ( anybody on this matter),
Can you PM me if you have a trusted friend in Sydney ( preferably CBD) that can verify a legitimate place to stay. My cousin is going there and he got lot of tentative place to stay , but we are not sure for the legitimacy coz we understand that there are too many scam on this matter. So if you be kind enough to PM me , it would be a great help.
Thanks.

hi guys, I'm quite new to this thread, and as I see that there are already 100+ pages here, I don't have the energy anymore to search for my questions. So I'm going to ask this, I'm a June 2008 board passer currently with no experience yet. I'm setting my sights for australia as of now and I just wanted to know if the bridging programs there require any hospital experience? Or is the assessment different for each person? I'm just taking my step 1 tomorrow which is counseling in IDP. So any advice for me?
It would be good if you could go through the previous pages.. it's really worth your time and energy. :)
To answer your question, some require experience while others do not. At the moment, registration depends on the specific state and so the variations in the process. However, in July 2010, there will be a national registration authority and I cannot say for sure if they will require experience for everyone by that time or not.
As for IDP, IDP is for education purposes (e.g. degrees, diplomas). So, it would be better to ask the specific regulating authority of each state to have a more concrete information.

I'll PM you my contact details and il help you with your cousin's problem. :)
Hi Patuman,That was quite expensive at P100/page. Go to the City Legal's Office at the old City Hall building and they just charge P50/document (so if you have 5 copies of your Diploma, that would still be 50).
Good luck and God bless.
Maggie
Thanks nursemavi for the input but I already sent my needed docs and it went OK. But this is good info for the other members. They have another and cheaper choice. More power guys!!!!
By the way nursemavi, when did you do your notarization? I did mine last Sept. 2009.

HI Patuman,
I had my notarization last Sept 2008. Here in Australia, they have the justice of peace who are authorized to notarize and they don't charge a penny. For the documents needed for visa 457 submission and for PR application, one can have his docs certified by the justice of peace.

Thanks for the info, Maggie. I was contemplating if I needed to certify my documents here before I travel to lessen the expenses. But with this information in mind, I think I can will be looking for a justice of peace in QLD.:redpinkhe
Hello and good day Fellow Nurses,
Ive read quite a number of pages now and a 100++ pages are quite a lot,,, and It's getting me quite confused,,, Id really really REALLY appreciate it if someone could brighten things up for me.
1) I have some experience (like 6mo lang) but I'd like the less riskier bridging thing,,, what's the FIRST STEP? (im confused if I go to the immi.gov site and look for it there. or the QNC site.. or the CQU site?) sorry po talaga,,,,
2) if I do not plan to go thru an agency and do it all on my own (as I have seen everybody here is real helpful :) ) how much are we looking at here? 300kphp yata ang inaccurate computation ko :)
3) And if I do it all correctly and actually set foot on the "land down under" do I look for a place to stay by myself? like go house to house or apartment to apartment?
I think thats it for now, I'd rather not put too much and not have an answer, hehe! Id apprecita kahit links lang sa previous pages.
Thank you po and God Bless us all,,, I hope I could call you guys "mate" in a few months,, :))

Thanks! I'm still here in the Phils. but my papers are being worked out already especially now that I have my license. Immigration needs to have my license first before they can proceed in processing my VISA. I already have an employer and it's the same hospital where I did my clinical placement.
