Wow your a friendly one too! I do not want a cumbaya attitude either just a softer approach might not turn off nurses that are new or like me with almost 20 years experience.
thanks for the uplifting post,
ren

As always caroladybelle a very excellent post.
ktwlpn, as always a very excellent post. This is not a board for 100% positive and uplifting posts. We'd all be bored very fast if that were true. But don't you think saying she writes like a two years old is a bit flamatory? I would get defensive too, that instead of offering helpful advice I was told I wrote like a two-year old. I like caroladybelle's post better.

Child you ain't seen nothing. Unless you've been lurking for a long before you registered in June. Relax, it will be o.k. This is mild. :chuckle
I know, I just hate to see any type of negativity. Veedot needs some help, not insults.

OKAY, the whole situation stinks. I can't imagine being so close to graduating and either screwing up or getting nailed for something I didn't do, either way.... it's baaaad.
Life is unfair. PERIOD. you are either going to rise above it and make it work, somehow and graduate or use this as a perpetual excuse for failure.
you can't control what has already happened, you can control how you react and what you do next.
However I do agree, that improved communication skills are a must to succeed in this profession. To me, all the slang and lingo bit, while fighting for your future and a carreer, can only harm you. Save that bit for the family and friends at home, you'll need to be concise, polite and professional through the process.
I do wish you well, my advise is to fight this until you either win or are forced to accept defeat. If you loose, then apply at another school to graduate. If you can not afford a lawyer, contact your local legal aid, or call the nearest university that has a law school, you may find a final year student who will happily "represent you"
good luck

ren,
You should not let the harshness of a few spoil the enjoyment you get from coming here to the BB and posting. Sometimes we need to act like ducks and let the water roll off our backs. Yes, it looks like there might be more to the story than what was posted....yes, communication skills and a good grasp of the English language is imperative for promoting one's self in this profession (And yes, bi-lingual nurses are a valuable commodity so please do not flame me for thins one...I am just making an observation).......yes, critisism could have been delivered in a bit more friendly manner (I believe it is called constructive critisism)....no, we are not all about the Kum-By-Ya and sit around the camp fire-while we toast marshmallows and sing.....we are about agreeing to disagree....we are a diverse people here coming from a broad variety of back grounds, cultures, experiences and languages.......no, we will not see things the same as another....that is what makes us unique, vibrant and interesting people. We must rise above the few that choose to be harsh and flaming. And if we are truely offended, we should be able to state that in a non threatening manner and if needs be, take it to the moderators and let them do their job so that we can continue to make this a better place for us all. Ren, may you have a blessed and pleasant weekend....and I wish this for all involved in this thread. As for the originator of this thread....if you are honest and sincere....you have been given some excellent advice and should consider acting on it. And might I suggest that the next time you would like assistance on a problem that you are having, maybe try to be a bit more clear in your statements....it could prevent future misunderstandings and fryings. Good luck in your troubles.
I am now humbling stepping down off the Soap Box....
