NCLEX RN 14 times

Published

I'm going to take my NCLEX RN for the 14th time in March. In using UWORLD and Picmonic. My problem is knowledge deficit, memory deficit and anxiety. If I stop taking the Exam, I'm going to forget everything which is worse. I know people who Failed and give up and do not want to be one of those people. Any ideas please let me know and help me.

I'm taking my chances. I feel that if I stop, I'm going to forget even more. When I count on Pearson Vue website, I saw that I already take the test 13 times.

Since it has been almost 3 years since you graduated, have you considered taking a refresher course?

Side note: Taking NCLEX over and over is not going to help you remember information, especially since they do not tell you which questions you got wrong and why the answers are the answers. You are better off investing that money in a review course.

"How I pass [the NCLEX]" threads tend to pop up on allnurses from time to time. I suggest looking at those threads and find out what others did to pass, overcome anxiety, etc.

I'm studying with Picmonic, Uworld and register nurse.com; you tube channel

Nursing is not the best thing ever. Maybe change your goals? Why torture yourself?

Specializes in Med/Surg, LTACH, LTC, Home Health.
That's why I brought a vacation house somewhere else where I can have peace. I work in Florida and I just brought a vacation house in Rhode Island so I can get away from the tough job that I'm working.

...I'm just not understanding your methods at all. When I said physically distance yourself from the factors that you feel are interfering with your success on the nclex, well, (am I allowed to say DAMN?)!!!! The last thing I'd want to or actually do in a brand new vacation house is study for a (can I say 'damn' again?) test!!!

Good luck, hun! I mean that, really! Oh, and since you're balling like that...a new vacation house, a $5K-plus Nclex experience, how about tossing some of that cash in this direction:uhoh3:? Forget what I know as a nurse. I wanna hop on your bandwagon....it seems to be playing a better tune from where I sit.

Throw some of your money my way, since it seems to grow from the trees at your house.

My UWORLD score are 20's, 40's and 60's.

Trying to study on your own is not working... You need to be in a classroom setting....I wish you well.

I used YouTube

Are you even paying attention to the advice you are getting?

People are suggesting that you study in a classroom setting. A classroom setting. YouTube is independent study. UWorld is independent study.

Someone like you, someone who failed repeatedly on one's own, should consider a class-room setting. A classroom~ setting.

Specializes in PICU.

Sianee:

Please pay for a review class with a live instructor, someone who is teaching you. Your independent study does not work. You need to be in the physical presence of a classroom, bring a pen/pencil and big notebook. You will need to write down notes. This is your chance to change. Independent study does not work for you. I know you are trying, but it seems like there is still missing information. Consistently retaking the test does not give you any further study. The NCLEX is a test of critical thinking with nursing scenarios.

Pay for 2 live courses that are a week long, maybe that might help with content.

It sounds as though you have a test date already scheduled. you could take two classes that are a week long before your test date. That way content information is fresh in your mind.

Okay, I'm going to work on that

Specializes in NICU.

I know that this isn't what you want to hear, but maybe nursing isn't for you. You are going to have a difficult time finding a job, even if you do pass on the 15th time. The almost three year gap between graduation and licensing is going to severely hurt your hiring chances.

Rather than throwing more money down the drain, figure out a new plan; one that is realistic.
