NCLEX RN 14 times

Published

I'm going to take my NCLEX RN for the 14th time in March. In using UWORLD and Picmonic. My problem is knowledge deficit, memory deficit and anxiety. If I stop taking the Exam, I'm going to forget everything which is worse. I know people who Failed and give up and do not want to be one of those people. Any ideas please let me know and help me.

Do you think the money you spent on the vacation house 1400 miles away could have been used to pay your bills so you could quit the job that doesn't allow you to take vacation?

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HELLO!!!! Thank you!!! I wasn't gonna go there but since you did, I'd so love to hear the answer! Waiting......

I'm trying to leave the job, that's why I brought a vacation house somewhere else

I don't think anyone buys a vacation house to leave a job. They usually just quit and stay at home, only changing from one job to another...not houses.

Sianee, there's something else going on with you that I feel is much deeper than the nclex. Whatever that underlying issue is, I suggest you set aside the nclex until other pertinent issues are addressed.

Don't even concern yourself with testing repeatedly so you "won't forget things" because you're not retainnng anything anyway. I honestly think you would benefit from seeing a therapist because you're engaging in unnecessary extremes, given your reasons for your decisions.

I'd venture a guess to say that something else in your personal life has happened that you're having a little difficulty with dealing with. So you dive into the nclex and blame the outcome on your job. I could be wrong, though, because I'm no way close to being a therapist. But I do feel you should see one if for no other reason than to address those extremes.

And if not, the OP needs help seriously; but not from nurses.

Ahhhh...been there, done that....so, hold off on the nclex until you deal with that especially if there is any kind of abuse occurring.

If you don't mind my asking, where are you from originally??

Ok, after all the excuses & weird behavior I have to say, please choose a different path. You have been out of school for going on 3 years & haven't passed the NCLEX in your 10+ attempts. If your job pays so well that you can afford to *buy* a house in Rhode Island, then maybe you should stay where you are. From the sounds of things your job is stressful, nursing is also stressful. You would be trading one stressor for another & may not get paid as well for it.

Also, it seems that English isn't your first language. Could that be a barrier? Regardless you shouldn't keep throwing money at Pearson Vue when you haven't changed anything. If you are *that* determined to become a nurse instead of reviewing on your own or in a class, go back to an ADN program. You can't review what you don't know.

You should have a decent grasp of the language at this point. You made it through nursing school, which I assume was taught in English. I think it's just time to hang up the nursing route & either try something else or stay where you're at.

That's very discouraging
