NCLEX Frustration...75 Questions!

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Hey everyone -- Ok, so I need your thoughts and encouragement. I JUST took the NCLEX this morning and my computer shut off at 75 questions. The BAD news about that is I honestly think I failed. I know myself very well and I did not shine on that exam. There were simply too many questions that I guessed on. Furthermore, I seemed to have A LOT of the "select all that apply" questions...I am the worst at those. Anyways, I ended up leaving the test center in tears. I am sick to my stomach because I studied A TON for that test...took a Kaplan class even. Plus, I feel like a failure. I am disappointed in myself and it just seems like the end of the road.

Has anyone out there had this happen to them? How do you get through it and what do you do to pass the second time? Any suggestions on great study guides or courses I should take? I studied Saunders and the NCSBN stuff...and Kaplan. I felt very well prepared until this morning when question number one was questionable for me.

Thanks for listening everyone. It seems like my family and friends think I am neurotic for freaking out before getting my results....but I know myself and I know that I did not do well.

HELP!

Thanks in advance!

You soud like most people that have taken the exam. Good luck

I too, feels the same way as you. After taking my exam I have mixed feelings. Did I pass or did I fail? I feel so nervous and up to now Im still waiting for my result. its been 11 days of waiting. Although I know the answer, some of my friends say that you must have a hard question and up to now Im thinking that my question is easy so I think I fail.

I totally understand every word you are saying. I sat for the PN boards Aug 30 and my comp shut off at 85... the minimum number of quest. I left in shock...I know myself and I know I failed with out a doubt. I should be getting my results anyday now. I seriously guessed on way to many...I had 3-4 SATA, No math, ALOT of infection control and rooming in. I know I did soo bad in that area and pretty much my test was all over the place. To be honest only time will help you feel better and get over it. The good news is that if we failed we can learn from our mistakes and weakness and take the test again. What doesnt kill you will make you stronger...Right !!! Keep your head up and know that you have support and that others are in the same boat. I plan on doing Suzanne's Plan when I get my results. Good luck !

I felt the same way. The good news is I passed but I really really thought I had failed because of all the SATA and I really was not good at them on my practice exams. Be patient and wait for the results.sign0111.gif

:hngon:Hang in there!

i took mine last week and i too had 75 questions. this was my second attempt and the first time i had all 265!! now that was torture!!!! i was soooo happy when it shut off at 75...you have no idea. i got 12 sata and i took that as a good thing because supposedly they are considered higher lever questions. that's just what i've been told. so i was hoping for sata even though i hate them too.

and guess what.....i passed!!!:redpinkhe

i bet you did too....waiting is the worst part....hang in there and be positive until you get your results.

good luck:loveya:

Thanks for your encouragement. Thank goodness...I found out today that I PASSED! :) I have no clue HOW ...and I even checked to make sure they had the right name! LOLOLOL. Anyways, I guess it IS possible to pass with 75 questions!!!

Best of luck to you in your nursing career!

Just to let you know that I took mine Sept 3 - your post is EXACTLY my story. I even bet my daughter $10 I failed. I had to pay her off when it posted I passed.

Please wait until you see the results before doing what I did. I knew I failed when I had so may SATA questions and had no idea what the drugs were, (they gave brand name and NOTHING we studied for).

I knew when that machine kicked off at 75 I failed. I think everyone feels that way. Suzanne said about 85% pass first time- it does seem to hold very true. I am sending good athoughts your way

congratulation that the battle is over for you
