Pearson Vue Trick did NOT work for me and I PASSED!

Nursing Students NCLEX Nursing Q/A

I just wanted to make a post in hopes that this will come up for potential nurses googling about the Pearson Vue Trick (PVT)

I took my NCLEX in January of 2017, and decided to try the PVT so many people swear by. I did NOT get the good pop up, cried cause well obviously it didn't work so figured I had failed. Nope! I passed.

The Pearson Vue Trick does NOT always work. Don't let it trick you!

This is was my second time taking the NCLEX, I failed the first one. It happens! I just picked myself up and studied some more. Passed it the second time with minimum questions. There is so much online help out there! So good luck to everyone!

I'm not so sure this PVT is 100% effective either. I do read posts of individuals who have done it and get no pop up and then find out they passed two days later.

I just took NCLEX yesterday (Friday) and did not get the good pop up. I tested at 75 questions with 17 SATA and I'm just now starting to heavily doubt myself...and all because of this silly PVT.

Ive put all correct card info in, I've tried it with incorrect card info, I've gone all the way through to the final submit and I've gone to just the verification page.

I just can't wrap my head around doing 75 questions, all those SATA and I miserably bombed it according to this PVT?!

Im glad to see that some people as recently as 2 months ago are saying PVT didn't work for them and they still passed. Gives me hope to see if my 48 hour results say PASS tomorrow. Fingers crossed!

Everything you wrote tells me that no, you did not do it correctly. I'll make the directions as clear as possible, to clarify and hope to help those who are still confused. You did NOT do it correctly.

The pvt is a game in which you attempt to register for another exam. If, and only if, you have submitted valid card information, pressed submit, then pressed submit AGAIN (twice) to confirm your submission, ONLY then will you get a pop up message that tells you that "another registration cannot be made at this time". That and ONLY that is the so-called good pop up. There is no other. The only bad pop-up isn't a pop up at all: it is confirmation that you have in fact paid $200 for a new registration.

All these people who are talking about getting no pop up at all and then finding out they passed did it wrong. Either you submit the payment and it is declined because you cannot pay for another exam when you have passed this one, or you pay. That's it. The whole story.

I took the PVT and at first got the "declined" notice after putting in a invalid card. I took the test 6/9/2017 and tried immediatly after I got the email from them...days later still stressed about if I did or did not pass... put in a valid card and was chargrd 200bucks and got a notice stating that it will be sent for att ..... now I have no choice but to wait.... not sure if I passed of failed but will continue to study till I get the results... and thats 6 weeks in cali.

Yeah I've read a lot on here that it's just a trick and works for some people and doesn't for others. I however did not get the good message about how I had already registered for this exam, so figured ill wait paitently and continue to read online on how people still passed even after the failed trick

I'm a little late to this post, but I would just like tell everyone what I did:

First, I took my NCLEX-RN exam TODAY at 8am. It ended after 75 questions and I was done at about 10:05am. I drove home and even though everyone says to wait (at least 4 hours yada, yada, yada), I decided to try the Pearson Vue Trick (PVT) around 10:50am. I went to the website and clicked "Start the Registration Process." I continued through all of the steps. When I got the page that required credit card info, I used an American Express gift card and entered all valid information (it was a $50 gift card but I had already used it and it had a $0 balance.) I then clicked 'next', which took me to the final confirmation page, where I had to click "SUBMIT ORDER." After that step is when I received the "good pop-up" stating "Our records indicate that you have recently scheduled this exam. Another registration cannot be made at this time."

However, I just took my exam TODAY (at 8am and it is now 3pm-ish) and I have not received anything stating if I have officially passed or failed. Luckily for me, Virginia Board of Nursing processes the scores the next business day and I find out my official results tomorrow.

It's also worth noting that I have tried the trick several times throughout the day (10:50am, 12:45pm, 2:45pm, so far lol) and have gotten the "good pop-up" each time.

Also, using the American Express (or any) gift card prevents me from having the enter my actual credit card information and having to shell out another $200, which isn't something I can afford right at this moment... I found this was the best method and I'm not sure if anyone mentioned earlier in this post or not, but I just wanted to share since a lot of people seemed concerned about being charged the $200 and not having the money for it.

I will update tomorrow on if I actually passed or not! Fingers crossed.

I did the PVT at 11am, 3pm, 5pm, then now at 8pm. This last time, I put in everything correctly as it says on my card because why not if I have to take it again anyway? Still got the pop-up saying that I've been recently scheduled for the exam, and cannot register at this time. Really hoping this is good news! My test shut off at 115 questions before I went into the survey and experimental section. Took my test at 8am, too, so I'm expecting my quick results to be ready on Saturday AM. Good luck!

Just updating that I officially passed!! The Pearson Vue Trick worked for me 45 minutes after FINISHING the exam! Virginia doesn't participate in the quick results option, but I had a license issued from them within 24 hours of finishing my exam. Good luck to everyone who is waiting!

Took my exam on 7/6 and I tried the Pearson Vue Trick a little over 30min after the exam. Gotten the good pop up and found out I passed the next day ! Florida

Update! I'm assuming the trick worked because today, I received my license in Oregon before I got any quick results to pay for.

Hello everyone.

I took my NCLEX this morning. Mine shut off after 100 questions and went to the research questions. I am trying to be optimistic however I tried that trick ( i think its stressing me out more) and I put in the wrong CVU and did not receive the :good pop up" does it matter with the CVU or the expirations date?

Im not feeling great about this!

I took my NCLEX RN at 2pm on 12/18. Cut off at 75. Got the good pop up every time after trying it several times. Quick results will be available tomorrow 12/20 at 2pm. With this being said every time I did it yes I did use my correct credit card info and clicked submit payment every time.

Hi all! Well although I'm pretty upset I've already accepted the fact that I failed. Here's my story.

I graduated January 2016 and ended up in the hospital a week after graduation. Fast forward to today 28Dec17 I was just well enough to finally take it. So I've been away from the material for almost 2 yrs and gave myself only 30 days to study (I have to admit, it was not intense, I was just too overwhelmed I think).

Anyway I got all 265 questions, lots of SATA, last question was well....questionable lol. So of course I tried to PVT, and I put correct card info because we'll I want to repay for it anyway if I failed...and low and behold, it went through. Needless to say, I'm a bit upset and kind of ruined my New Years but I would love to hear someone tell me there is still a chance I passed and I might need to get a refund.

Thanks for any info, positive or not..just honest. Co gratulations to all the 2017 new RNs!

Also, yeah I'm in CA..no quick results
