January 2008 NCLEX support thread

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

To NCLEX takers both PN and RN who are taking exam in January, this is a support thread for you all to post and keep each other company through rough and smooth times.

Good luck in your study and taking the exam

Thank you!

It's so funny as soon as I saw " pass" on quick results I stood up and walked into the kitchen and told my fiancee " I did it" and then all of a sudden I broke into heaping sobs of joy. Lasted 10 straight minutes..I was 1/2 laughing 1/2 crying.

BEST. FEELING. EVER!

congratulations!!!!! i know the feelings, I felt it too 2 weeks ago!

Hi all,

I am a January test taker as well, Jan 17th to be exact. I finally got my ATT last week and scheduled my test. I had been checking for it daily since I graduated ;). For the last year I've worked as an extern in L&D and have been working as a new grad nurse since I graduated. I really need to pass this test first try because nursing school financially destroyed my family. I'm really starting to get nervous about it because I need it so bad. I did well in nursing school and did really well on the HESI. I took the elsevier review class (waste of money) and have been reviewing Saunders quizes plus practicing questions on the computer. I still feel like I'm not ready though, do you ever really feel ready? I know areas I need to review (meds, electrolytes etc.) and after I finish the Saunders quizes I plan on focusing on the areas I'm lacking in. I've been following this web and waiting to see if I would be a January test taker, so now I can officially post that I am!!

It'll be great hearing about all of you passing, hopefully I can post my own good news on here as well.

It depends, I did it in 4 days, the notes are well summarized with short quiz questions at the end.

Good luck.

Boomersmom,

CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Go for it. Just think positive. And claim that God will be there with you to help you through with your exam. . Pray above all before you start and then breath slowly deeply inhaling and exhaling , these will help you relax. And take few minutes break to stretch your fingers and do some neck exercise. . Ok, break a leg. I know you will make it.../ Surely with God's grace and mercy.

Less than 72 hours until test day :o

Since I am testing on Thursday will it be possible for me to get my results by Sat or will I have to wait until Monday? I don't think I could stand waiting the entire weekend.

I don't know if I should keep studying or stop now. I feel like I don't even know what else to study and that I am starting to chase my tail at this point. It seems like no matter what there is something that I just don't know. I am afraid that I am going to start to confuse myself if I keep this up.

I was always a good student in NS, never failed a test and managed to maintain a B+ all the way through. I passed the ATI exit with a 99% chance of passing NCLEX but I don't know if that means anything and I have been using Saunder's questions to study since second semester!

(Boo hoo!) I don't know what else to review and I am starting to freak out which isn't a good thing.

I am feeling pressured to pass since I need to work so bad and it's starting to get to me. I also don't want to fail because I have a few nurses in the family and they all passed the first time. I would be so embarrassed if I failed and everyone keeps asking me when I am taking boards. I wish I could go hide somewhere until I know I passed.

Can I stop studying now or should I go on for another day?

I need some help to calm down because my nerves are starting to get to me now :o

Ack! I feel like I am walking the plank!

I feel your pain LOL...I test Friday and I feel myself starting to panic. I'm trying not to since that does no good at all. I'm focusing on pharm and well, just learning to make good choices when I have to guess. I was a 4.0 graduate and I will be mortified if I don't pass. I have done 3500+ questions and aiming to do 4000 by Wed. I test Fri so no studying Thurs. My teacher told me the more questions you do the better prepared you'll be. Only restudy your weak areas etc. Okay, taking a food break so I don't have altered nutrition ;)
