Greetings everyone,
I am concerned about my daughter and was wondering if anyone had any ideas about what is going on. This is my first thread, and my family doctor is out of town till Friday. I am a RPN but when it comes to my children I can only think as a mom. The only signs and symptoms she has are ...lack of appetite and...she is slightly orange. Carrots are not a food she will eat so I know to eliminate that. Until I can get her into the Doc's all I can think about is jaundice and live damage.
Thank you for your time.

Sorry everyone,
I wrote that I was concerned about live damage when I meant liver damage.
Thank you,

Do NOT wait to take her to "her" Doctor on Friday. If it is jauntice a LOT of liver and brain damage can happen in 48 hours. YOUR CHILD NEEDS TO BE SEEN TODAY.

Take the baby to be seen now! If her doctor doesn't have somebody covering, then take her to the emerg. Don't wait around when somebody is jaundiced. Let us know how she's doing.

ER. Not Friday, not later today, NOW. It may be (and probably is) nothing. On the other hand, we are not chameleons, and color change is not a normal state for humans. Get her seen.

Has this come on slowly or did she just wake up orange one morning? Is she orange all over? Could she possibly have rubbed against something orange?

if this isn't diet related, it could be pancreatitis. i've seen orange-toned skin in kids, and this was a r/o diagnosis. what color are her sclera? urine?
