I took the nclex-rn on sat dec 9th. I could not wait so I paid for the quick results and unfortunately I failed. I know that I am not the first or the last but today I feel like I'm the only person on the earth!. I am seeing so many people that have been at this same place, and they seem so positive, I hope that I can get that positive too. Does anyone know for NY when I can retest? Some are saying 45 days and others say 90 days. and when do I start to count from the time I get the package in the mail or from today.Trini JamesQueens, NY 0 Likes

blackberry4eva Dec 13, 2006 hey girl. i don't know the answers to any of your questions, but i would like to say that my best friend took the nclex 3 times before she passed it. all that i can say is that god has not brought you this far to leave you and if you continue to trust in him then he will give you everything you need. it is already yours because god said so! 0 Likes
Born2bRN Dec 13, 2006 Hey Trini James,I also took it twice already and didn't pass. You can't stay down about it. Yes it may hurt at first, but you got to take a little break, regroup, and start to study again. YOU WILL BE AN RN..To answer your question, when you get your Candidate Report in the mail, it will specify how long you can wait. Most of the times, it's 45 days. The report will also show you the areas that you need to study more of.I hope that helps.Stay Positive, Stay Strong, and know that YOU CAN DO IT....KEKE P.S. I used to live in Brooklyn.. 0 Likes

Imafloat, BSN, RN Has 13 years experience. Dec 13, 2006 Trini,Sorry to hear that you have a setback in starting your career. The New York Board of Nursing website is a bit confusing, I looked to find the info for you and I couldn't. Perhaps you could contact the school you graduated from they would know. The waiting period before retesting usually starts from the day you took the test. 0 Likes
g_race Dec 13, 2006 sorry to hear that we had the same fate... we better go get into studying again and keep our focus on our goal :-) try to check NCSBN... about the 45 day rule .. God bless! 0 Likes
g_race Dec 13, 2006 oh hey... i've just seen this info about the retake policy The National Council of State Boards of Nursing, Inc. (NCSBN) voted at its Dec. 5-7, 2006 meeting to raise the passing standard for the NCLEX-RN examination (the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses). The new passing standard is -0.2100 logits on the NCLEX-RN logistic scale, 0.070 logits higher than the previous standard of -0.2800. The new passing standard will take effect on April 1, 2007, in conjunction with the 2007 NCLEX-RN Test Plan. https://www.ncsbn.org/513.htm 0 Likes
g_race Dec 13, 2006 iww posted the wrong info... but here it is...The NCSBN retake policy allows candidates to retake their examination 45 days after administration of their examination. Candidates who have applied for licensure with a participating board of nursing will be permitted to take the NCLEX® examination eight times a year, but no more than once in any 45-day period, unless limited to fewer retakes by the desired jurisdiction of licensure. Note: The following boards of nursing do NOT participate in the 45-day retake period. Candidates are encouraged to contact these boards of nursing for their policy on NCLEX Examination retakes: Georgia-RN, Guam, and Washington. 0 Likes

Totally indulge yourself and enjoy. The next morning when you wake up sit down and make out a plan (on paper).......your strengths leave for last......your weakness this is what you need to focus on.When I was studying I went by Suzanne's plan and WOW was it helpful!! She knows her stuff! Good luck and YOU PASSED is just around the corner.........can ya see it? Its there!!! 0 Likes
