My lovely oldest who is in 5th grade has been telling me that she has been seeing her school nurse because....her lips are chapped. It was even noted in her recent IEP review that during her testing, she requested to go to the nurse because her lips were bothering her that bad! Needless to say we had a chat about what are good reasons to see the nurse and that chapped lips don't qualify!
A lip scrub will help get rid of dry, flakey skin on lips. Jelly Pong Pong has a yummy coffee and coconut sugar based lip scrub that will help keep your lips silky smooth:
"A shea butter-based lip scrub that helps keep your puckers smooth, free from dead skin, plumped & primed. Formulated with pure golden sugar, jojoba and rosehip oil, this jar of lip polish gently removes dry, chapped skin, leaving your lips silky enough to glide that perfect colour on without it flaking or feathering on you."

Y'all have a problem..
My soon-to-be-ex carries a chapstick everywhere in his pocket. I can't tell you how many tubes of chapstick I've melted in the dryer. No, I didn't leave him because of his chapstick addiction. But I'll put that on the list.
I only use it if my lips are supremely dry. I keep one on my bedside table and in my purse. I never lose either one. I snack way too much to keep anything on my lips. I once read that women eat 8 lbs of lipstick in their lifetime and that keeps me from applying things to my lips. Can you imagine how much chapstick you guys have consumed in your lives???
Thankfully my little one is too small to be "that kid" yet (She's only 7 months), but I turned into "THAT parent" this morning.
I told her daycare how 'she had a runny nose last night and didn't sleep well, but didn't have a fever so I thought it would be ok to send her. but to call me if she starts to look sick.'
As the words left my mouth, I saw on the worker's face the same frustration that I get when I get that same song and dance from parents here at school.

When she's older you can just tell her, "if you start to feel bad at school just call me and I'll come pick you up."
When in the first grade, my oldest son was sent to the school nurse's office complaining that he, 'couldn't breath'. Upon the nurse's inspection she found that he had stuck several pebbles from a hallway planter in both of his nostrils. Yep, the boy is now a decorated USMC officer... semper fi.
I am a bit of a "chap-stick" snob. I use Aqua-phor and the teal Blistex lip balm only. Every other kind leaves a weird taste in my mouth. I put Aqua-phor on every night before I go to bed. Not Vaseline- that's too slimy. Has to be Aqua-phor.
I recently discovered that Neutrogena has a tinted lip balm that doesn't taste funny too. So now I can have a little color on my lips if I so choose.
I actually finished a tube of blistex this morning. I was so shocked at what was happening that I told the student standing next to my desk that I finished a tube of lip balm for the first time ever. I almost wasn't sure what was going on. See, I lose them or melt them long before using them all the way, plus I am always opening a nice shiny new one.
Finished a tube of lip balm. Unbelieveable. (the student was unimpressed)

I was looking for my chapstick last night and my daughter reached into the space behind the couch cushion and pulled out an EOS lip balm. She said "I keep them all over in places where I might need it" and proceeded to remove another from the love seat and another from the side table. She said that she has one in her locker and one in her backpack and one in her pencil case at school too! Not all ESO, some weird flavored ones the she got for Christmas. I never see her use chapstick, so I had no idea that she had them stashed all over!
