What do you think is your most important tip for nursing students???

Specializes in General surgery ,Vascular, Orthopedic.

....to find a study method that works for you!!! realize that the competition is O-V-E-R!!! Work together with your fellow classmates !! GET YOUR 8 HRS OF SLEEP IN !!! STUDY STUDY STUDY!! PROCRASTINATION IS NOT YOUR FRIEND!!! Also, take a break every once and a while. Nursing school requires a different train of thought for it is truly on another level plane of learning...oh and buy some care plan books you will thank yourself later OH and learn your conversion factors (1 tsp=5mL) early and keep it memorize!!! And if you don't know the flow of blood through the heart and the 12 cranial nerves then i suggest you start memorizing that too!!! MUCH SUCCESS!!

I would say to stay FOCUSED!!.. Its so easy to be distracted by the many things that life throws at you while you are on this journey. But you must stay motivated and keep your eye on the task at hand, becuz once you fall behind in school its hard to catch back up. Stay ahead of the game..:)..Good luck to you!

Keep up with your studies on a regular schedule. Don't cram or start your papers or careplans hours before they're due - like me!

These tips are nothing new to education. I think the same tips could be applied to any degree plan from nursing to chemistry to English.

What makes nurse school different?

What makes it different is that nursing is a completely different way to think.

You have to realize that there really isn't 1 right answer(espeically on an exam) there are probably 3 or 4, its decided which is the BEST right aswer and why.

And you will get asked"Why is THAT one the BEST answer? Why not this one?" and you need to have a rationale to explain your answer, even if it is wrong the instructor will understand why you chose that one and be able to show you why it wasn't right more easily.

Also, RESPECT your instructors. There is a reason they are teaching you, they WANT you to succeed. Hope this helped!

I don't know. That's why I asked. I've never been there. I do know that any educator will give out the same study and time managment advice for their respective fields.

my most important tips for a nursing student are...

1. get a planner..you will have so many assignments, papers, care plans due so this will help you stay organized.

2. get good sturdy tennis shoes (you will be on your feet alot and your feet will thank you for the good support)

3. get a rolling backpack...with all those nclex review books, care plan books, lab books, taber's, pharm books and your textbooks, it will get extremely heavy on your shoulders...so save your neck from straining so much and get a rolling backpack.

4. a really good stethoscope

5. no procrastination

6. use google and youtube for images to help you with lectures or clinical skills (i used it for everything)

7. lots and lots of prayer

8. it will get overwhelming but just remember you will make it to the finish line and every nurse to this day has been in your shoes....as a student nurse!
