Good morning--
There are those that are aware of what has transgressed with my family by following my articles and threads.
It is my sorrow to say that my dad left us earlier this week.
I would love to write, to document this event, but for now, I am too raw.
To those that offered me words of support, kindness, advice on hospice care, I cannot thank you enough and normally I would take the time to just PM each of you....but forgive me, I haven't the stamina.
As I said to him, "This is not goodbye, but see you later."

You are such a dear friend to me, and I wish I had some words of wisdom to give you that would make the pain go away. Alas, words fail me (which, as you know, is a rarity) and all I can say is what my own father said to me when my husband and I lost our second child: "Time, patience, and perseverance will accomplish all things."
It does get better. My dad died May 12, 1985, and I still miss him; however, he is now a pleasant memory who lives and laughs in the recesses of my mind, and that's all I can remember of him anymore---only the good times. One day in the future, this will happen for you too; but in the meantime, take time to mourn, and try not to put away the grief too quickly because the only way out of this process is straight through it. You have to experience it all in order to heal: the pain, the tears, the all-engulfing feeling of being lost, the year of "firsts".
My thoughts and prayers are with you, CP.
