There have been some things at work that, as a nurse, I never thought I'd see my coworkers do. It might just be a little thing, but it really gets on my nerves. I'd like to say something to them, but sometimes it's better just to keep my mouth shut.
What about you? What drives you nuts?
Aw man! And here I thought @tnbutterfly - Mary was going to roast the rest of the Admin/Mod team

HA HA HA!! Verrrrry tempting..... But then they would have a free shot at me.
While the lazy ones who spend the day trying to hook a doctor can be annoying, unless the patient is in danger I can pass it off.It is the rude belligerent ones that are a big problem, from staff to management.Usually administration knows who they are and choose to ignore the problem, even after client complaints. As a new nurse I was really shocked and sad,but many years later I hold my own and do not take any nonesense from anyone. Some of the bullies even have lied by claiming that The bullied nurse made them cry!.This type of person makes whole profession look bad and causes high turnover. If one has a problem with alcohol and drugs go get help and stop bringing your problems to work.We want to have a nice working unit.
This isn’t necessarily task-specific but apparently I’m the only one who fills ice trays in my office. Several of my coworkers don’t use the ice because they drink bottled water or buy lunch and get water from there, but I fill my Yeti every morning. I’ll crack the ice trays into the bucket, use the ice scoop to scoop some out, refill the trays with water, then repeat the next morning. If I’ve been out for whatever reason, I’ll go back to find the ice bucket completely empty and either both ice trays empty or one tray empty and the second tray half-empty where someone else popped it to get the cubes they needed for their drink. One of my coworkers even made the comment that she likes it when I’m back because the ice works better. I told her that anyone can do it and she said “I know” and walked off.

Not only is it annoying to the patient *and* me, it means they're not getting what they're supposed to be getting! I'll go and fix the pumps when I hear them, but I have some coworkers who I swear don't check on their patients at all, so by the time I actually get there, they're pissed at *me* and have a list of demands ready. Ain't nobody got time for that!
When there's an agitated and aggressive patient that we're all getting beaten up by, and the primary nurse won't do anything about it - like only won't they contact the MD or security, but also won't even help control their own patient. Seems to happen a weird amount on my unit.
Also, having videos or music on with your volume up. I get it, sometimes we're just tryna stay awake, but I haaaaaate listening to other people's stuff.
I'm realizing I just don't like noise. I think I picked the wrong profession.
LMBO!!!?

“Nobody told me I was getting a patient!”
”can you call back to give me report? I’m about to do a med pass.”
”I can’t take report right now, I’m in an isolation room.”
