More Strange Baby Names

just had a unique baby name the other week....thought i'd share, and hope to continue this thread from earlier.... "strange baby names":

My mom wanted to name me "Liberty" and wanted to call me "Libby" for short. She said that she came up with that name because I was born in 1975 a year before the US Dec. of Independence Bi-Centennial in 1976. Don't know much about it but she said it was a big deal back in the '70's. Everything was painted red, white and blue and lots of patriotism, parades, etc. But, my dad really didn't dig the idea so no go. I could see it becoming a popular name after Sept. 11 alhtough don't know anyone that has named their baby.

Did any of you read the story months ago about the guy in the Army that legally changed his name to "Optimus Prime" who was the leader of the "Transformers" which were big with my generation back in the '80's.

I have cousins that live in Baltimore on Berry St. -three brothers, Barry, Brad and Brian.

My friend has a niece named "Jada Mae", prounounced Jade-a,

As a nurse in Wisconsin, I ran across a physician named Dr. Doctor. He had a sister who was a nurse (nurse Doctor). When I was in the military I had a patient named Elvis Presley Levey and his sister, Dolly Parton Levey. Their parents were big into country music, but didn't get out much. Also, a friend of my daughter has the unusual last name of Asswipe.

OMG what a last NAME. I think i'd be getting it changed just so someone doesn't yell "HEY TOILET PAPER!!" at me.

Reminds me of a guy my stepmom went to school with. His last name was Douche. He wound up getting a legal name change after he's gotten sick of the Summer's Eve and Massengil jokes.

I know a kid named "United States of America" (family is from Mexico and they don't even speak English)

Twin girls named "Lexus" and "Mercedes"

Just recentely heard of someone who is pregnant and is planning on naming the baby "Grape"

I'm a chronic reader of the birth page in the Sunday news..just to laugh at all the names parents give kids....

Hayden and Holden are some of the most popular boys names that you see...not too different..just popular..I feel sorry for the teachers, they'll have like 6 Haydens and 5 holdens in their classes..lol

But a few that made me want to smack the mom's upside the head:

Shadow Rocket

Justin Timberlake (Timberlake being the middle name)

Magnus Michael (Gave birth to an 80 yaer old man?? WOW)

Armani

and the piece de' la' resistance....

Twins..one boy..one girl....

Dolche and Gabanna (sp?)

The one thing I hate (call me conservative) is all the different spellings. I feel sorry for the kids having to add all these y's s's and ie's where there normally wouldn't be any...My sister just had a baby girl named Lauren Elizabeth...the nurse had to ask how to spell the name...my sister just looked at her and said "um...the normal way?"

The only spelling differences I really like are the old fashioned ones...like Megan is the updated way of splling it...Meghan is the Irish way...that kind of thing. But lordy..

I love that Angelina Jolie named her son Maddox. I wonder where she got that from. Does anyone know the origin? Thanks!

How about the idea that she likes baseball and named him after the Atlanta Braves pitcher, Greg Maddox?
