Strange names are becoming more and more popular... all the regular names are becoming duller. I'm a female 26 years old, and my parents named me "Rusty"... my middle name is "Mae". I have two older brothers so I know it's not because they were wanting a boy. But I was born with red hair, so thats how I got my name... Mae was my grandmother's middle name. But speaking about some odd names... I know of a family who are mennonites and have seven children... One of the girl's name is "Dorkas". When I met this family, I had all I could do to keep from laughing. I know that sounds rude (I also know my name is also funny for a female)... but could you imagine calling your daughter "Dorkas"... imagine getting teased with that name..."hey Dork... get out of the way Dork... what are you, some type of Dork?"...I just think naming children unusual names or odd names is only asking for trouble. My fience and I are trying to have a baby, and we're already fighting over names... Lord help us all if he has his way with baby names. If we have a girl he wants to name her "Mandolin"... Just like the music intrument... or he said "Amandolin"... I just can't see that happening. All this talk takes me back to Johnny Cash's song "A boy named Sue"...*giggling* Any ways, I'm out of here...lol.

I hear that name i think of my VCR and my microwave.
But i'm getting pretty burnt on hearing that yet another one of my friends named their kid Brittany or Caitlin (or however they are spelled this week)
I remember in the days of Olivia Newton-John, she had a nephew named Emerson. But, geesh that was 25-30 years ago. Old age...gotta love it.
Well, my own name is kind of unusual...it is C'Anne (pronounced See-an)..it was a combo of my first and middle names. My natural father wouldn't let my mother name me (I would have been a Mandy), so she had to name me C_____ Anne. And I've forever been called C'Anne since she took me home, and it was changed on my birth cert when my step-dad adopted me as his. BUT...I have no middle name.
I named my oldest daughter Caiva (Kayva) from letter beads I picked up off the floor when I was 14 years old!
My 2nd daughter, the middle child, is named Alora Mishell. Alora after that beautiful, red-headed, curly haired baby on Willow. My daughter didn't end up with my red hair...but is sure is curly!
I worked with a young lady named "Qwatara" but since nobody could prounouce her name correctly, she had us call her "Tara".
I hope not to offend anyone, but what's with the name "Milo" for a boy? Wasn't that a dog's name?
Well, then again, I love the name Brandie and I know a few dogs named Brandy too LOL!
Oh, and my new neighbor's names start with an "N".
Ready? (dad) Nate, (mom) Nicole,(daughter) Nakya &(son)Nakyle.

A friend of my brother's in high school was Natas, no joke! Has anyone heard of the name Veniene, it runs through 3 generations of women in my family and none of us can find any info about it. Then there is the famous Ima Hogg, she donated a huge art or furniture collection. I think in PA.
