This is too funny.
Reminds me of a guy I dated. His given name was Dusty Kenneth Glass. Hee hee . . . Dusty Glass. The goofy guy named his daughter Krystal. LOL Poor kid.
Another unusual name. . . Delmacholony. . . dell-ma-coll-la-knee. Took me awhile to get that one right.
My friend has a niece named Halcion. Everyone pretty much refuses to call her Hallie. . . only "Halcion" will do.
My oldest daughter's name is not so unusual anymore: Gianna (Gee-ah-nah)
but I rarely hear my youngest daughter's name anywhere else: Gracen (Gray-sen). I liked the name Grace but thought it was a bit oldfashioned. I had heard of the name Grayson which is popular for boys in the South (US). Some people call her Gray-son but it's supposed to be Gray-sen.
My husband calls Gianna "Girlie" and Gracen "Namesake"????? Go figure. :) Our son bears a traditional name: Joseph. We both call him "Boy".
I remember being amazed that any of our children learned their name at all because we always used nicknames.
My grandmother's name was Billie, my aunts name is Billie-Margaret. I have a great aunt name Lub... not sure if that's a nickname or her given name.. given I think. My grandfather's name was Hilary. I was going to name my daughter Hillary but she was born shortly after Clinton was elected, and I didn't want to look like a copycat...lol.. so I named her Corinne.. which coincidently was the name of a great aunt I never knew of who was greatly disappointed when I was born since I was a girl and couldn't carry on the family name. My dad was only son and I was his only child (my mom had two from a previous marriage and had DM so really wasn't healthy enough to have me, let alone more). Anyway... that's pretty strange, don't you think?
Had one - a girl - named "Brandy Alexander", worked with an "Ima Pigg", classmate (was due on Christmas, ann was late) - named Chris Mis. Have great-nephews "Zane" and "Trace", niece wanted to name her daugter "Ivy" (was talked out of that), Another great neice - "Alley". Where do they come up with these???
