MJC 2019 application period

Published

Hey all,

While looking at information for the Modesto Junior College RN program I came across an awesome thread on here for the 2018 application period. It was great to read through and see how much they motivated each other. It gives us an opportunity to stress together and bond while waiting to see if we get in. I am hoping to make a successful thread for those of us ready to apply in May.

Best of luck to all

I started the application today, but my contact details do not show up on the first page. Does anyone else have this issue??

Does anyone know what the ADN to BSN GE was on the application? I just clicked No for now but I'm not sure if it applies to me.

If you completed all the lower GE requirements needed to transfer to a CSU.

Did anyone else who applied not receive a confirmation email? I applied on the first day and still haven't received an email?

Hi guys! Is anyone applying to MJC as an LVN? how many spots are available for LVNs and what is a qualifying score to apply with?

At an information session with MJC program reps they said that there are 10 spots guaranteed to LVNs. They have to take at least 10 LVNs regardless of points is what I understood.

Hey everyone! I was told that this is the last year MJC is doing their application this way. Starting next year, the application will be in Feb 2020 & 20% will be lottery. I also heard they will be publishing the new application June 1. (This information came from a friend who is currently taking the intro to nursing class at MJC)

Yes, I was just speaking with Marcos today. They are not going to factor in the science grades as heavy, and there will be more points available for students prepared to transfer to a CSU for a BSN. Also, the max points for the TEAS will change, because nobody scores 100 on it, so the will change the range for the max points.

Check your 'Other' box. I submitted today, and the reply went into that, not the 'Focused' box.

Hey everyone!

Good luck on applying this year! What points are you applying with if you don't mind me asking? I'm trying to figure out if I want to apply at MJC or Columbia. I took majority of my pre-reqs with Columbia.

Hello,

I am also an VN and will be applying this application period. There is not necessarily a qualifying score, they just take the top scores of the eligible applicants. The only thing that is different for LVNs is that we are required to take Nurse259(the VN to RN transition couse) prior to applying. I hope this is helpful, good luck to you! ?
