Midwestern State University

Published

Hello,

I've been searching through the message boards and I just can't find much information on people who go/have gone to the nursing program at Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas. I was wondering...what was your entering GPA? What was your NET score? How did you like it? What hospitals did the school use for classes? Do you feel like you got a good education there?

Thanks so much!

Sarah

does anyone know if nursing courses are available in the summer? i am in my fifth semester at Texas A&M right now, and i really would prefer to not be at MSU for another two and a half years

Yes they are available but only to lighten your courseload not to advance so you will have to be here for the whole 2.5

What classes would we be able to take in the summer at DCCCD schools?

Hi Everyone,

I was just wondering if anybody knows the stats for the Spring 2010 semester, ie did they get 200 applicants, etc??? Also since you stated that its a 2 and a half program and not a 2 year program, the class going in for Spring 2010 should gradute when? My guess is at the end of 2012, but I'm not sure if I'm calculating that correctly, thanks in advance...

Yeah, I was wondering about the 411 on MSU...on pins and needles is more like it, tho. Shouldn't there be a person to call and ask, tactfully, if there is an ETA on "acceptance letters" into the Nursing Program?

Because if not accepted, I need to be redirecting and regrouping, ya know?

I think I may try to call or email and figure out when we are supposed to get letters. I believe I have heard middle of November but I'm not sure where that came from

i talkedto the nursing dept lady yesterday and she said letters should start being sent the first week of nov

I called earlier this week and she seemed frustrated because I asked the same question( wen would the letters be sent out) and she said she had 115 letters left, but everybody keeps calling asking the same question which is slowing her down, but Im hearing sometime in November..I hope its before Thanksgiving. @huggiebear1979 i thnk they reached beyond 200 because i called her like a week and a half ago and and she had 137 letters left or something. My freind went they in september and talked to the nursing lady and she said that the program is now a 2 year not 2 in a half anymore. But im not sure how accurate that is...Im hoping that it is! IM SO NERVOUS I HOPE I GET IN!

has anybody else heard about it being 4 semesters and not 5 now?

I know I would much prefer that its a 2 year program and not a 2 and a half, I think everybody's nerves are on edge, I know mine are, I wonder if the cut off will still be 56 points, since they have more applicants than before, 1st week of November would be good that only two weeks away...

terms of service reminder

several posts in this thread have been edited as they contained names of school officials which is in violation of the terms of service of this site. the terms of service states:

while it is important to be able to network, everyone should be mindful of the following:

  1. it is a small world - when we narrow it down to a state and throw in some personal info, there is actually a pretty good chance someone may recognize you if you are not careful. your privacy is paramount to us.

  2. while
    allnurses.com
is a wonderful place to vent (without excess personally identifiable details) it is not the place to express why ("x" specific person, place or program) is terrible. gripe away, but since we cannot permit allegations to be made about named entities, your care in not naming them is very much appreciated.

  3. please do not give out personal information about others. do not name names where anyone could
    identify the person
in any facility including your nursing programs.

other posts were edited that contained email addresses which is also against the terms of service. you really need to be careful about posting your email address on the public board as many lurk this site and will spam you endlessly. please do not post your email publicly. members will answer you here on the boards or you can relay this information via private message.

thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
