Texas Tech or UTEP
Hello austinbaby I have also been accepted into Texas Tech PNP Program, but I am finding it rather difficult to find any reviews for this program. I have until 6/6 to accept the offer, but I have also applied to University of South Alabama. Due to a delay I have no idea if i have been accepted into their program. I have found numerous reviews on their PNP Program, but nothing for Texas Tech.

Parkland Hospital, Dallas Texas.
I too was just hired on and honestly I would rather hear information coming from a PARKLAND employee rather than someone who doesnt work there or has never been employed there. Also I still havent heard anything on why they would be building a NEW facility if it was going to be closed down everyone seems to be ignoring that statement. I am excited to work there and I will be saving lives and doing what A NURSE should be doing rather than focusing on everything else that is going on on these other websites... Patient safety FIRST remember!

Well I took Intro to nursing at UTA so I dont have that here. But basically Health Assessment is on Monday from 1-3:50, Patho is pretty much online...you go on the first time but after that only on the test days...everything else concerning Patho is online. My clinicals are on Thursdays from 10-12....i think if you have to take Intro then its on thursdays at 1pm....I didnt take statistics here but i think thats an option if you need to be full time for financial aid. IN MY OPINION you can miss some health assessment lectures and still get a high grade...sometimes she has pop quizzed and she has had a guest speaker twice so far and their material has been on the exam...but other than that its not necessarily required for you to come....neither patho or assessment take roll. Im not sure in Intro....but in clinicals they do mark who is there and who is not, but very close to the end of the semester they have makeup labs for those whi have missed them earlier in the semester. Im not so sure about the 2nd semester though because i think some days we have like 6 45am clinicals...Basic is at 8am and Pharm is at 9 30 mondays and wed.....clinicals are on tue or thursdays. I hope this helped!

@ knalimol CONGRATS ON GETTING IN!!! My friend that I knew at UTA was from houston and she got accepted into MSU and Texas A&M in Corpus Christi, but she went to Corpus Christi because she would be closer to home and I dont blame her lol. Idk when MSU's will be coming in so I would go ahead and send the PV stuff off. The program here is hard, but anywhere u go its probably gon be hard...as long as u read and study then you should be fine at PV as well as at any other nursing school. @ Delgadido I understand completely....you get burned out on it. Its a good town to be able to study in and not get too distracted...when you get a break from studying then you will see that there are plenty options. As far as the fully furnished apartments...I know the Grove is on Taft Blvd...as well as the on campus apartments...but thats the only ones I know of.

I actually like the school its a very nice campus and so far I like the people, I didnt think I would because it was my first time being away from home....but I adjusted within days! 2.The area is pretty nice, everything you need is right there! You wont waste very much gas at all! The place where we do clinicals is like 7 minutes away...mostly because of the traffic lights. Alot of people say its boring up here, but they have bars, clubs, game places, movie theaters, skating rinks...jus depends on the person...me personally I dont have time to say that its boring because Im always studying. 3.They do, you can either study in the Clark Student Center or go to the library and request a room...its not hard to find a spot at all 4. Now I stay in on campus apartments and they are nice, but I odnt know much about them here....there is a orevious post about the apartment prices from prettyladie im not sure what page number, but you should check it out. 5. its a very good program, it takes hard work and alot of reading and studying to get the grades you want( from my perspective). On page 19 of this post someone has put all the courses you will have to take throughout the semester. For the first 2 semesters, if you are on financial aid, you will need to find extra courses to be full time. Another thing you will hear about is about pharmacology in teh 2nd semester....alot of people take it at a community college because its hard up here...but it's up to you on where you want to take it. Ive heard both sides and have decided to take it at MSU. Other than that I think its a good program.

Huggienbear1979- Ive also decided to take it at MSU instead of online somewhere else, I think it will help out ALOT later on knalimol- No problem we dont mind helping out.....You should actually be hearin in a couple of weeks if you got in...and if you look some posts back like maybe around post 8-12 or something then one of my friends actually explained step by step how to add up your points.

Midwestern State University
Alum08- they actually didnt tell me how many points I applied with but I estimated between 60-63 something around that. I had like 70 credit hours when I applied and as long as you put into WTNEC the right way I promise it wont get overlooked. You still have to send your transcript to MSU Admissions also. The HESI scores actually dont count or factor into the point system...they take the NET up here....we take the Hesi when we get ready to graduate. If you have anymore questions just ask me!

Oh I dont mind my friend did it for me so I dont care! So far the first semester is going great! Im in Health Assessment, Pathophysiology, Computer and some blow off class lol. It's really not that difficult right noe, you really have to put the effort into studying and reading. If you dont know your material then you might not do so well in the course. The questions on the exams are all nursing situations so you have to apply what you know to the question. But if you have good time management and read and study you will have no problems. I actually like the school, people say its such a small town and that there is nothing to do....but in all honesty the town is not that small...WF has everything you really need down there. Yes there isnt much entertainment, but they do have some....but if your anything like me I study so much I dont have time to say Im bored! LOL The teachers are okay, I really dont talk to them much unless I have a question...but most are nice. Clinicals are good, you have to go to United Regionals to SIMS lab, you get a lab partner and you practice the assessment techniques on eachother. It's only one day of the week and you can pick from different times, but the good times like 3-5 fill up FAST! I stay in on campus apartments so Im not sure how much the others off campus are. My advice would be if you have any questions at all about courses or the application proccess call Cathrine Rudy at MWSU and WTNEC....Im pretty sure they memorized my number because I called so much lOL. You want to make sure everything is done the right way so it wont mess your chances up of getting in. When you get into the program STUDY AND READ!!!! I cant stress that enough, but as long as you do that you will have no problems! If you have any other questions dont hesitate to ask! And sorry it took me so long to reply!
