Hello,
I've been searching through the message boards and I just can't find much information on people who go/have gone to the nursing program at Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas. I was wondering...what was your entering GPA? What was your NET score? How did you like it? What hospitals did the school use for classes? Do you feel like you got a good education there?
Thanks so much!
Sarah
I am starting my second semester of the nursing program and was wondering if anyone had any tips for the Basic Nursing course. We have our first test next week and it covers 17 chapters. Obviously that is a lot of information. Just wondering if anyone had some insight into topics to focus on. Thanks.
Hey Everyone i would like to apply to MSU but i dont know if i should apply to the school first and then the nursing school, and had anyone had issues with this aplication website https://portal.wtnec.org/ it doesnt work for me i dont know what to do because i would like to apply for spring 2012, and the deadline is nearing i leave in houston TX, and do we need to send the Transcripts to both nursing school nd the ,main school any reply will be appreciated. thank you:)
When I was in the 2nd semester we did 4 - 5 hour shifts (or 2 - 10 hours depending on if your in DEU or not - but DEU has very few people) and then 2 - 6 hour community. However last semester they changed it. I know the ones in the DEU program had 4 - 11 hour shifts and if I remember correctly they said the other students had 8 - 5 1/2 hour shifts. You will also have sims lab dates thrown in there and last semester they did a lot of online stuff for hours. However, it really depends on what they decide to do next semester or if they have to change things again (as things change every semester especially with clinical).
Normally you'll know within the first week of class what your clinical's will look like (we got our schedule at orientation before classes started for 2nd semester).

Kikky, Im sure that people can be called off the waitlist up until the first day of class. Some students that have been accepted may not be able to attend for many different reasons. A few years ago I was waitlisted for a LVN program and they called me the second day of class.
It would be a good idea to contact the school and see where you are on the list now and if they think you have a chance. I wish you luck!
