Midwestern State University

U.S.A. Texas

Published

Hello,

I've been searching through the message boards and I just can't find much information on people who go/have gone to the nursing program at Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas. I was wondering...what was your entering GPA? What was your NET score? How did you like it? What hospitals did the school use for classes? Do you feel like you got a good education there?

Thanks so much!

Sarah

Same here. I just registered for my classes this morning. It makes it all so real.

I'm still waiting for my acceptance letter too :). I was wondering if anyone is looking for a roommate for the fall? I'm trying to go as cheap as I can, and I have furniture minus a kitchen table. I'm 23, quiet, and will probably spend most weekends in Denton :) :) :).

You should check into the grove (gogrove.com) from what I hear there pretty cheap and you wouldn't have to worry about roommates being flaky or anything

I got my acceptance letter finally. Nursing school orientation is in July and that seems soooo far away. I can't register until I attend orientation for Midwestern State - so I will be doing both orientations on that day.

Does anyone know anything about the RN to MSN program at MWSU, specifically the FNP or Mental Health NP programs? Is all of the diadatic portions online? Thanks..

I just got my letter on Saturday too!

I got my letter on Saturday too!

Hey there! Would you guys who recently got accepted mind telling you gpa, points on their admission system, and test scores? Thanks! Congradulations!

andi - as far as I know, this last semesters weight on the entrance exam was non-existant. It appears that you just have to take it. If you go onto the website it has nothing about how the entrance exam is weighted... I took the Hesi A2 at El Centro and used my scores from there. I think I got an 87 on that. My GPA was around a 3.2 I think for both overall and sciences courses. I was missing about 3 classes but I am already core complete so I don't have to take those remaining three. Except for the computer proficiency exam. I also have a degree. I think my total points were 57 or 58. However, I am not too sure because I never confirmed my points - but thats what I calculated them to be.

I received my letter but I've been waitlisted. I applied to other schools as well and still waiting for their letters.

I sent MWSU my NET test which wasn't great. I recently took the HESI (made a 90) and I wonder if I should send it now even though I've received my letter?

Justjenn2010,

I would go ahead and send the HESI in, not sure if it will help your chances of getting in, but in the last semester of Nursing School at MWSU, you have to take the Hesi to graduate, maybe they will let you use that to not take it again, again not sure what the policy is on it, and from my understanding being Wait listed is much better than a rejection letter, at least you still have a shot of getting in.....

The Hesi and the Hesi A2 are different tests. The hesi A2 is general knowledge stuff and the Hesi you take in nursing school is much harder and is related to actual nursing.
