I was hoping to start a "sticky" for those of us facing micro this spring. I've done (and kind of enjoyed) A&P I and II but am nervous about this course. If anyone finds any good links, has Q&As or hints to share, etc., could we add them here? I have seen other posts about micro, but only by doing a search and couldn't find a dedicated thread. If there is one, point me in the right direction and I'll shut up. LOL!
Happy New Year everyone!
I agree, studying hard is the main key to success in this class. I know nothing about the instructor for my class, just hope that his teaching style is not to hard. But I am ready to buckle down for a somewhat hard semester, A&P1, micro, and psych for human life span development (taking online). Every free moment will be used to study.
Good Luck to you!!!:reef:
Hey, I also went through Micro as a single mom. It's a tough class and my instructor was extremely difficult. I would strongly recommend reading the chapters, making note cards to study during times like waiting to pick kids up or while at Burger King playland or whatever. It also helped me alot to search the stuff we were going over on the internet. It's a VERY interesting class. Especially once you get past the dna/rna type stuff! Good Luck and let us know how you do and how you like it!

Its really not. The micro class I took was taught by the head of the department, and he taught the class as a majors level course. Even so, I managed a cumulative 96.5% [lecture and lab]. Granted, I've always been a A student, and I have a genuine interest in micro, but the point is, its not some scary, uber-difficult class. Like I said before, just focus on really trying to understand what everything really means, rather than simply memorizing facts. By focusing more on critical thinking, instead of memorization, you are going a great ways to prepare yourself for nursing school, which stresses this skill quite a bit. Good luck and try to have fun.
