Microbiology-Spring 2008

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

I was hoping to start a "sticky" for those of us facing micro this spring. I've done (and kind of enjoyed) A&P I and II but am nervous about this course. If anyone finds any good links, has Q&As or hints to share, etc., could we add them here? I have seen other posts about micro, but only by doing a search and couldn't find a dedicated thread. If there is one, point me in the right direction and I'll shut up. LOL!

Happy New Year everyone!

I am thinking of taking A&P 1 and Microbiology in the same semester. Would this be a bad idea?

i would never recommend taking 2 biologies at the same time, if one as it is-is too much to know and memorize and study. unless you don't work-do it, otherwise, i wouldn't do it. jmho

Dannie78, I'm taking A&P I and A&P II both next semester and I took intro to A&P and microbio both spring semester and did well with all As. I think it can be done BUT it takes devotion and hard work to do so. My advise is, go for it if you think you can. If you can work hard, create good study habbits and take excellent notes as well as be an excellent listener in lectures, then you should do it. otherwise, it's just going to be a waste.

Hi Solidus, What school do you attend? I was just curious b/c ususally you are not allowed to take Part II while taking Part I. The pre-req for Part II is usually Part I, if you do not have a passing grade how can you advance to the next level? I'm just curious. But if you are allowed to, then  to you b/c A&P I is hard by itself, A&P II is even harder. At least at my school b/c we have 10 week terms...

Hello all! I'm new here, and I'm taking Micro this summer. I took A&P this spring, and truthfully didn't find it hard (got an A). I wondering what to expect from Micro? Thanks

Well I dropped Micro in week 7 of week 10 this summer. We started out of about 25 in the class and there's close to 15 people left finishing tonight. 4.0 and above average students being reduced to D's and C's. I sent the professor an email about it because it didn't sit with me right. Her exams were ten times harder than a friend of mine's that had anothe professor. I'll be taking it this fall with Intro to Chem online where we do the lab at home. It's like triple the cost of taking it at school.:uhoh3: I've already taken both A&P's thankfully.

I'm taking anatomy 1, Micro and Nutrition this semester. I don't have a job, little ones (just a husband who is a grad student) and I am really good at studying and staying focused but I am still worried about taking these three at the same time. What do you guys think :uhoh3: ? Is it doable?

I'm in the same boat peeps! I'm taking A&PII, Chem 152, Microbiology, and Nutrition. I'm confident I can do this but will definitely need some R&R come May!!!

We should have a collective group hug here for sure!

I am also worried about Micro

Microbiology and physiology here too! Plus work.

It's doable

I know the post was an old post for micro, but in case anyone is interested you can take micro online. I took all my A & P's online and the labs were done online as well. I am currently taking chem online and the labs are done online as also. Technology huh!
