Creating this to give an insight into the process of applying to Mercy Hospital College of Nursing. I've attended the information session. I took the NLN entrance exam and got a 78% overall score. (73% is passing) I'm waiting to see whats the next step once the administrator sends the needed information. Let's see whats next.

For those of you in the LPN to RN program can you explain what are the escrow credits?

the escrow credits are the credits you'll receive from the LPN.

Hi nurses

I'm an LPN, been at it for five years and ready to transition to RN. Especially with all this Covid pandemic brewing. They need us ! I'm planning to apply to Mercy Hospital in Miami for the fall. They haven't opened up the I normative sessions or.posted a deadline. I'm preparing all my paperwork to turn in now. Just wanted to ask about the entrance exam. I'm trying to find the right study guides, I have a few I've been referred to. Is the NLN PN exam similar to the TEAS? I've been out.of school for a bit so trying to refresh as much as I can. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

HI love I am currently in the LPN to RN program at Mercy. For the NLN PN it was more of a comprehensive exam about what you learned in LPN school. Like it had topics such as maternity (there was a lot of maternity questions), therapeutic communications, safety such as Maslow, and etc. I personally would just use the NCLEX PN book by Saunders or whatever NCLEX PN book you have. I used the Saunders NCLEX PN review book. Just remember I took mines in early 2019 so things may have changed but people I have talked to who took it after me said the same thing. There is 100 questions and must score 73% or above (unless they changed that too). There making a lot of changes so just bare that in mind. Hope that helps and hope you start in the fall and get this RN!

Anyone have any experience with applying to RN program and transferring credits from EduKan??

I was emailing with ------------------- but she hasn’t gotten back to me ?

PROGRAM UPDATE:

Hey all,

Just wanted to give an update about the program. I am in the 3rd and FINAL semester has started and it's of course different because of the online switch because of the rona virus. The schedule was originally Monday 4-10pm and 1 clinical day during the week, now its online lecture on Monday and clinical simulations online. Based on the schedule it's a lot of assignments due and NCLEX prep so let's see how's this semester goes. I am planning on doing 50-100 NCLEX questions a week using NCLEX-RN Review by Saunders and then increase to as much as I can. Excited for graduation which is a little over 4 months away.

This is SO helpful!! Thank you all for responding and offering tips and tricks. It's my first day on here, have always heard good things and now I'm so happy to be here. I'm very eager to get this ball rolling and glad to be around determined nurses also. Thanks again.
