  1. BUMPING this post because I am looking into WCU after I complete my LPN program. Hoping you can answer my questions: Is there an LPN to ADN option available? The website is not very clear; there is some conflicting info on different pages.Does WCU accept Straighterline credits? I am currently completing all of my pre-reqs with them. Can you tell me the length of the LPN to ADN and/or BSN program after completing all of the pre-reqs? What is the schedule like for nursing students in the LPN to ADN and/or BSN program? Since I will be an LPN, I plan on working throughout the program and I'm hoping the school schedule will be something I can work with.
  2. Bumping this post. Anyone have any updates on Straighterline at West Coast University?
  3. Anyone have any experience with applying to RN program and transferring credits from EduKan?? I was emailing with ------------------- but she hasn’t gotten back to me ?
  4. Is there financial aid (FAFSA) available?? I heard something before about them having aid for the LPN program but not for LPN-RN bridge ?
  5. Good morning! Any LPNs out there have experience working from home/telecommuting? I’m especially curious about positions in other states (ex I live in Florida but want to work somewhere based in Washington) I’m still in my LPN program but I’m curious about what options are out there like that because that would be a pretty cool option for me while I complete my RN program. I have an infant so if I could work from home and go to school that’d be awesome. Thanks!!
  6. That’s awesome that you were able to work! What kind of schedule options are there? Weekday/weekend/weeknight? I guess it depends on your cohort?
  7. I didn’t get that many details. You should call them and ask.
  8. Just wanted to post again on this different thread that you will still be able to bridge at mercy! i called them Monday to verify the rumors being spread and was told that they are doing away with the LPN program there. they will be creating a generic RN and an accelerated RN program. I told them I will be sitting for my NCLEX-PN next year and they told me I could finish in one of their RN programs, I wouldn’t have to start over. I could finish where I left off. I hope this is helpful!!
  9. Ok so I called them this morning to find out what's what. Apparently they've gotten a bunch of calls about this! The guy I spoke to (I didn't catch his name) was like "let's dispel these rumors lol" What I was told was that they are dissolving the LPN program and offering a generic AND an accelerated RN program instead. I expressed my concerns to him because I will be sitting for my NCLEX-PN next year and wanted to bridge at Mercy soon after. He told me that with my LPN license, I could start their RN program and finish within a year. I will be sleeping a lot better now! I was super concerned because everyone tries to go to MDC (at least for their generic ASN and their accelerated options) and it's very difficult to get into their programs. I'm not sure if the competition for the LPN-RN bridge is steep there but I would imagine that it is since it's the only affordable option in Miami aside from Mercy. I am hoping with these changes being made at Mercy that their financial aid options change along with it because if I can use FAFSA money to bridge there, I'd have it made.
  10. Hello all! I was wondering if anyone could confirm for me the gpa requirements for the LPN-RN bridge program? Is it true they're getting rid of the bridge program? I'm currently in my LPN program and wanted to start at Mercy when I finish.
  11. Bumping this post because I have questions about admission. I am starting my LPN program @ Robert Morgan in August, expecting to finish in October of next year. I have my eye on bridge programs at Mercy and MDC. What, if any, GPA requirements do they have at Mercy?
