Mercy Hospital College of Nurses LPN-RN Miami
Hi, I am just now reading this! I am so sorry it took me so long. So my school was purchased by another larger school called Galen Nursing. The school is based in Pembroke Pines. I am not sure the cost and I do know it is a little bit more than what we paid. About half of our instructors will be transitioning over there. It has been super challenging, working full time and with a little guy who just turned 11 but if you put your mind to it, anything can be done. I worked one full time 12 hour job at the hospital and have two other per diem jobs that are about 6-8 hour shifts. It was nearly impossible to get it all done and I had zero social life but I made it. 45 days left!! Two more exams and about 850$ more left to pay off. So almost there. My goal is to finish out this program and begin any required classes for my BSN in January and apply to an online BSN program, probably FIU. Always keep your eye on the prize and write out your goals, it really works! Good luck and if you need anything further, write me back. It won't take that long , LOL sorry about that again. Have a great afternoon, Sylvia

RN to BSN FIU
Hi everyone, I am an LPN that is completing the LPN to RN bridge program at Mercy Hospital in Miami. We are graduating in December of this year. So CLOSE! I am looking into transferring to FIU following licensure and wanted to know if there was anyone on here that had already done this transition and had any tips. I plan to visit campus next week and sent a few emails to advisors but haven't heard anything back. The RN-BSN online program is what I am looking at. Any tips or guidance on this ? Thank you in advance.

Hi everyone, Just catching up on this message board. 123 days away from graduation! So far, I know that Galen College has started their first semester but I'm not sure the cost. As far as working during the program, I did three days 12hour shifts the whole time and it was really brutal. My son is 10 and my boyfriend really has held things together because I have always been buried in a book or with my group studying. If you have good support it can be done because the studying is mor eintense in the middle semester. But don't give up, they need us and we have to get out on the field. Looking into going to FIU next year for the Spring and hopefully it's not too complicated of a transfer process. Let's see how that works. Good luck out there!

Hi, Just wanted to provide an update. I had orientation via Zoom today. It qas impressive and I got a really good feeling from the faculty. The presentation was great and they genuinely felt like they want you to succeed. Everything will online until December more than likely. There is another scheduled class to start in January tentatively. There is about 42 people in my class from what I could see. Classes for me will be Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays or for others its mondays , Wednesdays and Saturdays just to give you a guys a heads up on what the schedule looks like. They have a payment plan available or you can pay for tuition in one shot. There is no financial aid or you can take out student loans. All the professors have been at the school for almost ten to twenty years so they are pretty knowledgeable. They seem accessible and friendly. Hoping for the time to zip by and get through it all. Super nervous though. Hopefully I'll see some of you later on campus in 2021. Let me know if there is anything further I can help with.

Hey, Oh noo!! Well wait listed is better than denied so think of it that way. I got the email this past week of acceptance and I still can't believe it. Feels so surreal. It's been 8 long years as an LPN and many other struggles but finally ready to get back on the ladder. Stay focused, later may actually be better. Orientation for this fall session is August 27 virtually. I don't know anything about clinical or dates or anything. The only thing I know is pharmacology is the first class and you have to pass with a 90. So im feeling nervous, excited and hopeful to join the circle of registered nurses. Good luck and keep your head up. It all happens when it's meant to. Either way. Im saving my stuff for you guys.

Hey everyone, THANK YOU for all the helpful information. It's really great to get the facts from the true sources, former students. I got an email yesterday with an aptitude test from the college. It was short and I finished in about 30 minutes. There were three parts. I called the College when I was done because there wasn't a follow up email or anything to the test. The lady I spoke to on the phone wouldn't give me dates for any deadlines and said I would get an email soon with everything I needed to know. She was very vagued and sounded like she didn't want to be bothered but that was all I got. Glad to hear from someone that they were told a deadline of July. I hope to be ready and all set for August, crossing my fingers. If anything else comes across my email I will be sure to pass it along here. Hope to see some of you soon.

Mercy Hospital College of Nurses LPN-RN Miami
Hi nurses I'm an LPN, been at it for five years and ready to transition to RN. Especially with all this Covid pandemic brewing. They need us ! I'm planning to apply to Mercy Hospital in Miami for the fall. They haven't opened up the I normative sessions or.posted a deadline. I'm preparing all my paperwork to turn in now. Just wanted to ask about the entrance exam. I'm trying to find the right study guides, I have a few I've been referred to. Is the NLN PN exam similar to the TEAS? I've been out.of school for a bit so trying to refresh as much as I can. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
