Just an opinion, what do you currently like and dislike about current mens scrubs? the fit, comfort, pockets (lol).

I am a fan on the Carhartt ripstop tops, nice fit. For bottoms I use the Dickies Xtreme stretch bottoms. The bigger sizes run a tad long so I had them hemmed, but having belt loops and a fly means the world.

Dickies Gen Flex are the bomb for me! Nothing like moving around and not feeling like you are in scrubs.

Any men here with wide shoulders/chest and a relatively thin waist, what do you use? I wear cherokee workwear, and they're perfect other than the sizing of the shirts for me. The size that fits my waist is usually too tight around my chest and back.

I don't even bother with scrubs. Tops - Polos with pen pocket sleeves. Bottoms - 5.11 EMS Tacticals (I'm a sucker for pocket storage).

Carhartt ripstop scrubs for sure. Mine have lasted over two years working in the ED. Lots of pockets and easy to move around in. Best part is they have a zip fly.

I've used Cherokee in the past. I liked the cargo pants with the zip fly. I switched to Jockey men's scrubs last year and love them. They have a zip fly, zip on the back pocket for my wallet. Also the material is light and not restrictive at all. Great scrubs!

I don't like anything with just an elastic waist. Elastic is for jogging pants and pajama bottoms. I hate the thin fabric. I hate the V-neck shirts. I hate that the sleeves are overly short on the shirts.

I have some Landau pants with a button and zipper fly that also have belt loops, and I wear a belt. I like that. I like the Carhartt scrubs, but I won't buy any because they have an elastic waist. No zipper. No button. Just a zipper to unreel through. The shirts seem nice.

I used to wear 5.11 Tactical pants, which are awesome, but stopped recently as I started wearing them to knock around in on weekends and reverted back to wearing my original Landau garments described above. They hold up longer, last longer, and are more multi-functional than scrubs. The 5.11s are great for urban assaults, range day, long hikes, raking leaves, doing nurse scut, and relaxing in an easy chair. And they look cool doing it. I wear them Merrell Moabs or Danner Strikers all the time, but they fit in with my mountain metropolis as the population here seems to love wearing outdoor apparel in all but the most affluent of settings.

I like Wonderflex scrubs. It's like the men's version of Wonderwink.

The scrubs that my school requires us wear have a flap over the v-neck... it looks like an up-side-down A. It is kind of strange on a guy. And no chest pocket.

as long as they don't ride down when i bed over or bend down to grab something... also, when they are too big they don't keep you warm and then have to resort to sweaters (cloth petri dishes).

I see this is an older thread but I may as well post my scrub preferences. On my current contract my work uniform is Wrangler hiking shorts and a scrub shirt, the kind with plenty of pockets. Except this winter when it was -5 out and snow on the ground, jeans worked fine. When I'm in a real hospital setting I like Cherokee Work wear, which my wife modifies and adds belt loops, and the shirt with the side pockets. I have found the Cherokee Lux pants are comfortable, have a fly and plenty of room. Dickies pants have a fly and lots of pockets, but less room, the have a shirt I'm not sure what series they are but they have the side pockets. Carhart scrub pants I didn't like at all, no room at all for the boys, I really believe they are unisex scrubs with a fly. I had one pair that I wore to work, made it half way through the night and had to change into my 'just in case scrubs' and gave them away. So as far as I'm concerned Cherokee or Dickies mens pants with a fly, and for shirts Cherokee or Dickies with side pockets. I carry a walkie and lots of keys at work and with the side pockets everything doesn't fall out when you bend over.

Happy nursing guys

Good day:

I find Dickies (Men's EDS Elastic Waist Cargo Scrub Pant) to be extremely comfortable; and I do make use of the "D" ring. I also have some Cherokee draw string scrub bottoms; the pockets are nicer on those scrubs, but they lack a "D" ring (comes in handy for keys). For tops, mainly Dickies. My frustration is that most local scrub shops cater to ladies, have an extremely small men's section, and claim that "unisex" makes up for the small section (that doesn't fly with me).

Thank you.
