  1. I wouldn't take another class with NUR 112, because it is intense.
  2. Congratulations.
  3. No problem. One piece of advice though: once you get the acceptance call from the Nursing department, go pick up your acceptance packet, get the book and start reading as soon as you can. You want to finish those assigned chapters before the semester begins, because playing catch up is not fun, and it's almost impossible. Other than that, enjoy the summer vacation as much as you can before you get that phone call.
  4. I still think you are fine. I am in the evening program which is a little less competitive. I passed with 86% as well, and my GPA was 3.9. I felt the same. It was nerve-wrecking walking in to the HESI exam with like hundreds of people while the Nursing program only accepts like 80 people.
  5. No problem. I am sure you got in. Which session did you register for? I am in the evening class. See you around. Good luck.
  6. I remember I waited almost a month before they called. I took mine 12/2, and I waited till after Christmas, I think it was 12/29 I finally got the call.
  7. I cannot, for the life of me, pronounce "sphygmomanometer". I am glad that now they use the electronic one called "blood pressure machine".
  8. I still hear this from time to time, it drives me nuts: "This is mine pen." and "This pen is mines." (Run, the pen will blow up?)
  9. Every week after clinical, I come home excited. I couldn't stop talking about everything that happened in the day. My wife is a little jealous, because I am in love with nursing ...
  10. There is Houston, TX (HYOU-ston), and Houston Street, NY (HOUSE-ton).
  11. Just had my first clinical today. It was awesome. Glad my professor went over the nursing process very early into the semester. The first thing the clinical instructor asked today before we even saw our patient was, what are the potential busing diagnoses and interventions. Read up on your NANDAs if you haven't done so.
  12. I heard this one today, pericardiocentesis pronounced like pericardial-synthesis.

Do you carry the stethoscope around your neck or in your pocket?

I should get some of those.
  15. I hope it's not too late to respond to this thread. I felt the when I received the phone call from my school congratulating me of my acceptance. I jumped up and down with joy, and in the same time anxious. I was very excited when when you received your stethoscope and uniform in the mail. I bought all the required textbooks and started reading them way before class even started. Now I am a month into the program, the excitement is dying down a little. The amount of material going over in each lecture and the amount of reading and preparation is taking the energy out of me. But going to clinical at the hospital I am still excited about. Clinical again tomorrow, can't wait to get my patient.
